I clearly remember the first time I got an unavoidable ad when opening a stream, when Spider-Man on ps4 released late 2018 and it was the day I stopped going on the site regularly. The twitch ceo had announced earlier that they wanted to go all in on ad revenue
Ever since then twitch has not stopped beefing up their adblock detection, you can find work-around plugins but you have to be DM’d the link because Twitch looks at forums/subreddits to actively plug the holes.

I get no ads to channels i sub too, can remove all others with a plugin, searching is 100% better than on youtube and vods stay up for a month or 2. That month or 2 is plenty time to watch the vods and for the vtuber to back them up on another platform if they choose.

Actually people on Twitch are known to be growing much faster than anyone ever grows on Youtube. There are people on Twitch who rise from having 2 viewers, to having thousands, over the course of a few short months. Twitch is very good for a small person to build a following. I really think there's a huge difference between vtubers on youtube and on twitch. Youtube is nowhere near a perfect site but I think vtubers being exposed to Twitch culture makes them act in a certain way that is unbearable and cringe to watch like a few Vshojo members (since I am sure is not all of them) or even that one Orca vtuber that is popular now.
