In my experience a genre often dies as it becomes mainstream, perhaps it never reaches true death, but once normie executives get that taste of success the soul is stripped away and the idea is broken down to make it as palatable for common audiences. Vtubing dying to the mainstream would probably be for the best if only to prevent saturation from hitting the point of pushing away true fans in favor of Fairweather friends who are just looking for the next trend to pump and dump.
