Aside the Relegation out of a Rank not being a thing, something a lot of people who play rank regularly ask for (There are absolutely Masters Players that are Hardstuck 10K and lose every match after that but don't get relegated because of relegation protection), that is absolutely false. I don't know about valorant, I thought it was similar to CS:GO, but in Apex Diamond is sort of the minimum bar for a Mid Player. You can absolute get to it purely on placement alone though it'll be insanely difficult to do it by getting +5 or so RP if you don't fight anyone. It encourages taking fights to gain RP based on the rank of the person you kill. So the fact you just reached where an average player would be means you're an average player.

Anyone hardstuck in Gold and Below is absolutely a retard however.

There's nothing wrong with Apex being "accessible" since if matchmaking works the bad players will stay bad and continue to play with other bad players, while the good ones will float to the top and can play the competitive version of the game. The only difference between a system like that and a system like your boomer shooters is that new/bad/crippled players are able to play and enjoy the game in some form

I used to play Rocket League in its prime before Epic bought the Dev, and there is no ranked protection. So if you get into Diamond or Champion, if you don't hold yourself well in there then you will rightfully get relegated out.
