Since you have pre incline numbers for JP, you can make the argument "well it was just a very good time period for them" for why the cull wasn't the same. I don't necessarily agree, but we simply won't ever know and lamenting the 2020 numbers is a lost cause.

I am of the belief that there WAS some amount of decline that happened for HoloEN. Before, they were the only game in town, but you have so many Indies and assorted corpos spring up, and they probably chipped away at the edges a bit. That I can agree with, their ascent too fast, not enough time to stabilize their growth at the higher levels. Then you throw in changes to social distancing/lockdowns/restrictions that meant people didnt have nearly as much TIME to watch streams live, and even with the continued sub growth, Myth's CCV stayed stable.
Like, that's both reasonable and something I can accept, going from the only big EN vtubers to the top of the pile means the numbers have to come from somewhere, and I doubt all of it was pure growth.
