Pivoting to a more idol-like template wasn't exactly a sure thing either. Remember that at this time (2018-early 2019) Mito was pretty much the unofficial Queen of VTubers and she was a variety streamer. Gamebu who was one of the top groups prior to imploding was more inline with Japanese variety shows too. If anything, going idol route was probably more of a gamble.

I have to ask is HoloEN just stagnate now? Myth is in the classic sophomore slump right now after the blistering rookie year they had, the 3d live is probably the shot in the arm needed to make them motivated again. Council just need a hardass manager to get them on their ass and stream, if they even do 2/3 of Bae's drive they would be much better.

ID is fine, they've always been close-knit and they're actually putting decent numbers for a side group anyway. They probably just need more numbers for more collabs and interaction, also a huge marketing drive to tell people that they do 95% stream in English.

I feel that's a mistake though? People are quick to point out how Gamers is quite the successful branch despite being a Nepo hire by FBK. But people forget that we could have easily been looking at another Sana situation. Mio was the one who FBK wanted in Hololive. Mio wanted Okayu to join and Okayu was the reason why Korone decided to tag along (if my memory serves me right). Mio could have just as much been a part of Gen 3 if FBK wasn't so impatient meaning no Korone and at least one of Gen 3 being out. Prior to Luxiem, Obsydia (minus Selen) and Ethyria weren't exactly setting the world on fire.
