Thread merging would be pointless, ID and KR were always welcomed in the main thread, and their boys were always welcome in the Male thread, the KR, ID and Male threads simply exist for people who want to focus more on those branches/members without worrying about flloding the main thread or showing other anons stuff they may not want to see (like the hornyposts in the Male thread).
As such there's little reason for either of the threads to merge, even more so considering that the KR thread is a general KR vtuber thread nowadays.

This doesn't make sense in a corporate standpoint if they have a decent 5 year corporate plan roadmap and market entry strategy. Pulling the plug on niji ID just shows how incompetent the upper management actually are. Any decent corporate guy would suggest to diversify their revenue stream instead of relying on SC as a metric.

It's not about platform availability, it's about shutting down their expansion in Indonesia. cmiiw but niji ID is an independent subsidiary with its own management. Ceasing operation for independent regional subsidiaries and merging them as a business unit under the parent company signals to the world that they are getting out of that region's market. It's the complete opposite to any corporate expansion strategy and kills any future momentum for the region.
If I were management in 2017/2018, I would start nijiID as an SBU under nijiJP before expanding as a fully functional sub in a few years. Well, they got their foot wet by expanding to ID 2 years ago and now they want to pull out and place ID as an SBU under nijiJP? It's a complete braindead corporate devolution.
And here I thought they would use ID as a base for future SEA expansion, but I truly overestimated ichikara and Riku

While i agree, at the same Niji ID itself didn't felt growing at all and both management and Liver didn't push their own enough.
Look at Bobon, It wasn't until Selen came he kinda push himself into much bigger audiance.
ID itself is focused on their on themself to the point it's lazy. Look at Koushien for example where Miyu could getting her momentum and watchalong where instead of joining Belmond's bar which a rare moment where international branch are together, instead they focused on their own. While it was good on it's own, but they did waste their moment and failed to capitalize it.

Anon I literally stated in my post for them to start as a business under JP first before expanding. ID project was announced to public and started operations in 2019, there's just no way they didn't plan that in 2018 or even beforehand. People don't open up regional projects in a matter of months no matter how incompetent they are.
Now that they did expand to ID, I was expecting them to establish a local presence in ID before opening up branches in SG / MY. ID's internet penetration rate is still 41% in 2020 and it's a solid base for future expansion and tapping the local market in 10 years down the road instead of, say, SG which is already a mature market. Look at ID's multiple successful indies, those numbers would only multiply in the future

Kinda true, yeah, I mean, some of them definitely were trying to get themselves out there, but most of their attempts were pretty halfhearted and didn't really seem to get much results, Bon was actually one of the more popular livers iirc, even before EN came, but he still saw some stagnation as far as I can remember and Reza has expressed wanting to boost his music but so far it doesn't seem like things have improved much for him.
And most of the others are, perphaps, a bit too lax in how they go about their projects and growths (which isn't bad mind you, Nijisanji has always been the kind of corpo were you aren't really expected or pressured to do stupidly well) and several of them saw some considerable stagnation due to being too niche or not really putting as much effort.
It's kinda sad and frustrating to see that both of the oldest international Nijibranches are trapped in stagnation and slow growth unless they latch onto EN or JP audiences with all their might, meanwhile the rest of their markets and competitors grow and surpass them without issue, especially noticiable with KR, and the newbie EN branch just beat them out of the water from the get go and even get considerably more attention from upper management...

The think about the merger is the lost of ID brand. It means that no more new "nijiID" in the future.
This could lead to 2 scenarios

As fellow IDfag here, I don't really think the only solution is to be more like holoID, this year ID vtubers went into mainstream YT, Look at Miti, she grows from a nijifan, joins fananniv and now she has more subs than all ID livers COMBINED! And she's not the only one too, there's plenty of local pandering vtuber who managed to conquer ID now, Sena is larger than Hanmok now, Chloe Pawapua just broke 100k and at times can stand equal with Anya/Reine/Iofi on CCVs. ID as a market has developed a lot recently but it's just that NijiID felt isolated from the growing scene that even holoID gains from it despite their ENfirst approach, so imo the debuff isn't the ID tag but NIJISANJI itself
