She is the most famous vtuber in the world, hololive is only popular overseas and only as idol group, and this was thanks to .Live leaving a spot free after some drama and legal problems.

Currently Nijisanji have a bigger presence than hololive in japan as streaming group.

Idol groups will never popular overseas, kizuna ai is more of a j-pop start at the moment

There isn't one, westerners are jumping on the bandwagon and most of the popular ones are streamers with previous experience or a part of Japanese companies. Since there doesn't seem to be any interaction from hololive, VShoujo actually is the closest, I can't even refute that despite not watching them

Melody was the first western Vtuber to gain notoriety from her chaturbate debut. I don't know why some people think Nyanners is even a footnote in Vtuber history since she jumped in well after it took off.
