I don't think it's a bad thing at all. She's obviously not great at communication, and most of her viewers are probably not great at it either, so it came off a bit heavy-handed. Not that not being good a communication is a bad thing in this regard, I think a big draw for Menace is her cute clumsiness and nervousness in expressing herself, and she seems to enjoy that as well given how often she talks about wanting to turn the tables on her chat and make them feel small and vulnerable
One of the things I've noticed from thinking over this whole clusterfuck is that the simple act of giving affection and it being well received is doing wonders for my emotional intimacy deficiency, and vtubers provide a low-risk outlet for that compared to doing it in real life. There's probably a Ph.D or twelve of theoretical/experimental psychology in studying and optimizing GFEtubers as a means for social rehabilitation.

Ultimately the best that can come up out of this weird experiment is not even getting a relationship, but self-improvement.
Sometimes just having someone cheering on you, even if it's exactly (you), it's enough.
This is why in general it is good to supply this hobby with some sort of rep, let it be art or even clip making.
You make stuff for them as payment for the motivation they give you to make stuff in the first place.
Learning to draw is a 5 year road full of pain in every step, if I get thanks from a cute anime girl every time I make a piece it makes the climb so much easier.

Power fantasies are very common with people who feel inadequate and vtubing is a situation where she can be in total control so she wants to turn it into a social power fantasy, but her inexperience with being the object of unbridled affection ends up taking control away from her.

I'll tell you what I did:
I started doing silly photoshop edits in late 2020. After a while, you reach the limits of what you can do without drawing and you start adding stuff here and there manually.
The chuubas actually enjoy those little funny ones and they appreciate the shitposts. This is how I contributed when I didn't have the skill to even do the basic drawings and how I got familiarized with the digital tools.
Afterward, I began referencing heavily, never really hiding the fact it was in reference to something. A drawing of a scene in a movie or the similar.
This would be considered borderline tracing but as long as you don't post it on Twitter no one minds. Anonymity was actually of aid to me because I got the same rush of endorphins without risking getting canceled.
Then I moved to chibi art and making very simple things. As long as it is cute no one cares if it is perfect. At this point, I was doing art every second of my free time with not much mental pressure because everyone seemed to like my stuff.

My advice always is: make something people need. No matter how poor your skill is, you will find the "better cake" comic is proven false when chuubas are always starving for more, never satisfied.
If nothing comes to mind, coupons and ironic art are a good place to start since they are supposed to be shitty to begin with.

I wish I could into drawing at all. Not to say it is impossible to make progress, but after work, exercise, career progression reps, and trying to be less of a sperg I don't have much free time or energy on weekdays and weekends only is just too incremental progress wise for me.
