I'm not sure, but I might end up moving some generals around now that I'm more familiar with which generals should go near which other generals, and how many generals we have for Hololive. My current count is 39, and with only 15ish placed it looks like I might need to make the average size of each nation smaller.

>>18399789
I might actually need to remove Watame and just have her be part of Bakatare since there doesn't seem to be a Watame general, and it turns out we'll be needing more space.
I could still move things around though so that Bakatare is near Watamelon, and have Watame be a province of Bakatare bordering Watamelon.

I'm personally not a regular follower of Sora, but I still want to give my two cents, so considering her role as the first member of Hololive. Shouldn't her spot be similar to that of the Vatican? Something akin to the leader or the cultural origin of the Hololive continent. With that in mind, I think her land should be in the center of the continent, inside the /hlgg/ country, maybe her country could be like Qatar and control a peninsula in the central gulf, or more like the Vatican and be a complete enclave of /hlgg/.

I'm not sure how I'd make that work, I'm just planning on giving her mountains since Sora means sky, and mountains make the most sense for that.

One other thing I was thinking though was also having Sora occupy that southwest peninsula. I don't think a harsh, unforgiving climate suits her or her general. Sky can just mean clear sky, doesn't mean it needs to be high altitude. There's also the fact that the Sora general hosts some other non-holo chuubas, so having them on the coast with easiest maritime access to Corpo/indieland would make sense.

>> No.18429476

She is ex-Hololive member Kiryu Coco, the Kaichou of the Kiryu-kai, who left the company in July of last year and began streaming again in her personal channel, where she would eventually get her own Vtuber model and now is know as Souchou.
As far as I know, she is an indie, and she left Hololive on her own will (or at least that is the official version that she and Cover gave for her leaving the company). It's also worth saying that she lives with Kanata, as far as I know, hence her general and /ppt/ being neighbors.
I'm not very versed in the small details of her story since she left Hololive, but I'm sure that some very good lore can be written by someone from her general, because her story from her joining Hololive, to being the driving force for the creation of Hololive EN, to the Taiwan crisis, her decision to "exile" herself from Hololive and then becoming a very popular indie because of people knowing of the Kson channel by the time of her graduation and following her there, is a very fascinating one.

A common rrat is that someone was stroking the flames because back then hololive used to dominate the bilibili vtuber scene, so what would be a small yab (it's not the first time something similar happened) got blown up as much as it is, so that the power vacuum left by hololive (whether getting flamed out of China or internal turmoils if they decide to sack Coco) can be filled by native vtubers.
Evidence for the rrat is circumstantial at best, but I reckon it could be good lore material, at least if not for the fact that CN vtuber has next to no presence here.

and on that note, i feel it may be wise to ask, now that we have /nasa/ wanting semi-sentient bread-dog-robots, and /uoh/'s fountain of youth sort of thing, not to mention the mythology surrounding the chuubas themselves existing in other realms, should this universe have any fantasy properties, and if so, to what extent? i think that having magic derrived from the worship of chuubas would be a very interesting addition, though i think they should all have a drawback of some kind to ballance it out. for instance, if my memory serves, /uoh/ turns anyone in it's territory into lolis, which weakens any attacker by giving them an underdeveloped body, but also weakens the residents for the same reason, (though, they can prepare for it, making it an asemetrical disadvantage) or how /nasa/ can only go into orbit every now and then. i figure /meat/ would appreciate the ability described in their lore causing cancer that they would need to regularly surgically remove (thus weakening them for periods of time due to recovery, and also forcing them to engage in more conflict to gather more "medical supplies" assuming they can't just turn the tumor into more usable meat) but i should ask /meat/ themselves about this once they get another thread up. it all depends on whether or not this thread wants fantasy-like abilities, so asking you first is worth while.

I can swap Nijimale and NijiID. Most of the placements for Nijisanji were either based on the size of the general, or other geographic factors, like /2434/ being where it is because they wanted to be naval based, or /HaHa/ being in the mountains because their chuuba is a dragon, NijiKr being on a peninsula because Korea is also a peninsula, or Petra being on the top of the continent to be near Anya for their shared general.

You could have semi-realistic fantasy explained as chemistry or technology. Berserkers using drugs and alcohol to numb pain is an example. If you have some fantasy elements then there has to be hard limits on how they work. Throwing fireballs is just lighting a flammable breakable object on fire and throwing it. Psychological warfare. Gunpowder. Etc. At least in my opinion.

/nasa/'s hard limit is that their technology cannot be replicated in less than 200 years because that technology is dependent on infrastructure, which was destroyed. Nobody is going to be driving cars in the apocalypse because its impractical to rebuild infrastructure needed to mine and refine fuel and parts with few people and resources. It'll be more practical to return to horseback.

personally, as much as i love technology in fiction, i hate soft sci-fi or sci-fant. soft magic is ok when magic is treated as an act of god, as in this setting, but if you are going to have a magic system, better to make it hard so people don't start flinging bullshit all over the place. i say that every advantage should be accompanied by a disadvantage of some kind, maybe one that doesn't hinder the main purpose of the advantage as much, but still one that ideally presents an opportunity for counteraction. if you have technology, yet you wont explain how it works, where it came from, or how it is kept out of the hands of others, it is worse than a soft magic system, because at least there is a reason you wont explain soft magic. good thing about fantasy is that physics still exists, even if there are ways to subvert it, so technology in a fantasy setting isn't hindered, and is in some cases enhanced through magitech. that's at least my opinion of it, at least.

What makes you think that magic moves from the top down and not the bottom up?

To begin with, chuubas are "powerful" because the "faith" that we have in them. There was once upon a time when people thought Kizuna Ai to be an unstoppable force, then Nijis came along and change the game, making themselves the uncrowned kings until Hololive very thoroughly steamrolled everyone along their path. Now we have greater gods in the form of Holos mainly, lesser gods in the form of Shojos and Nijis and Kizuna is but a vestige of the past that is fading in the current age of chuubas. Under such a premise, they seem more like demigods or even just plain heroes, but this also applies to all-powerful entities in the world; for whom would fear a god that no one believes in?

Was banned for a day and couldn't respond in time, but I would still insist on Sakuran being next to Doog. It's true that it's current location borders three nations that I suggested in my initial post made considering Miko's interactions and preferences, however if this map is supposed to represent the thread overlap in vt, it would make sense for us to be connected to Doog, and through it the areas of the eastern continent. This is based not only on the poll I mentioned earlier in the thread, but also on another poll we had made around the time of the MikKorone 24h, where people voted between MikKorone:Micomet:PekoMiko, in a 3:1:1 ratio. This means that MikKorone posters are more numerous than both sui and peko posters combined. It would be difficult to explain, from the current location of the country, the strong ties with multiple nations half a continent across.
In light of this, I'm willing to withdraw the preference for humid continental and take a subarctic/tundra region, maybe around the /moon/ area. Ideally we'd have access to the main ocean area but we can't really have everything.
That said, I must admit you've made our land fit pretty well where it is. Good job and thanks for your contributions, nuetralfag.

This is only one of the factors used to decide placement. Usually other factors take precedent, like geographic preferences, thematic sensibility, or chuuba generation.
Sakuran is also very difficult to move, so at this point it wouldn't be worth moving Sakuran to a place that's less thematic just to better fit thread overlap.

Maybe switch to a light pastel color pallet or stick to the four-color/five-color theorem to illustrate political divisions. Setting ground rules:
1. This world represents /vt/ and its inhabitants. Not the Vtubers and their official communities! If two Vtubers from different agencies hate each other, but their threads on /vt/ are friendly then the diplomacy must follow the latter.
2. The world is neither pure fantasy nor pure sci-fi. It is both. Due to the theme of Vtuber deities and 4chan 'tism, the society you developed can either be low fantasy, pure sci-fi, contemporary, or any form of magitek hybrid.
3. Do not start wars with actual generals! Any inter-thread conflict that happens on the map for RP reasons should stay on the map! Do not actually pick fights with the actual thread they represent. Have common sense.

Anon, an asteroid impact that would make a crater that could be visible in a world map indeed has the makings of a cataclysmic event. Just for reference, the one that basically put an end to the dinosaurs left a crater the size of Puerto Rico or Jamaica, and those islands look comparatively tiny relative to everything else.

I'm not saying what should or shouldn't be part of the lore, but you should find the most appropriate way to include it so it makes sense.

So the crater won't be big enough to be seen on the map then. We're not talking about an entire space colony falling to earth. We're talking about a small space station that ejected itself into smaller pieces before landing. Even as a crash it's not done at maximum velocity because the station would have detonated like a nuke.

We could also retcon the crash to take place before landing in space. Which causes the station/ship to make an emergency landing. Nothing's set in stone yet. But we do need an event that destroys the infrastructure which nerfs space tech to current world tech level.

desu, space stations aren't supposed to be large-meteor-sized to begin with, i doubt they would cause the kind of impact you seem to think they would cause, even if they didn't burn up 75% before they even got through the atmosphere. keep in mind, most of it would be made out of aluminum, and other light material, with a large amount being empty space. it would make a bunch of debris, making the impact radius a bit larger, but most of it would burn up in the atmosphere, so you would get multiple small impacts over a large area, none of which would be big enough to be visible from space.

I don't think it's a good trade. If Nasfaq were to rely on naval strength, the island would be far easier to defend than the mainland which could easily be reached. I also do not see why you would want the island - I'd see it if you wanted an island for the lore, but you already have one, so this one would be redundant.

Sure, on paper, /nasfaqg/ would get a tiny bit more land, but it would be harder to defend and it is difficult to understand the reason for this trade in the first place.
