I kept trying to make this point in general for most vtubers, that games are more entertaining when played at least a little bit competently. Most people reject it hard and seem to enjoy that clumsy loot-die pattern though, so fair enough to that. I thought especially about some habitual apex players that never improved throughout the whole year, and i thought they might be losing viewers due to it.

But for Ollie in particular she's clearly 1000 % new to it/FPS so theres no way to criticize her until she gets way more hours into it, and for now just gotta enjoy her flailing around and having fun like all newbies once did. For me the problem isn't even that the streamer is bad, but that they focus heavily on the game and don't talk much while STILL not playing well enough. It's a lot more tolerable when its a semi-zatsudan or like a typical chatty colab , where they read the chat and/or interact while playing, etc. The problem is when someone quietly plays the game with most of their attention on it, its still not even vaguely good, and theres no interaction during it. One of the better arguments for becoming better for the sake of streaming that game, is that a better player wouldn't need so much focus to loot or move around and could talk outside fights at least. Everyone wants to hear their Oshi talk about anything, but that requires that basic competency to free their mind to do it while playing.

Ollie's collab with Ame or even Astel was an example of how the player might be objectively bad but the stream still very enjoyable and full of clippable moments. If she would stay quiet and focus, she could probably play marginally better but lose most of the appeal, and thats probably what many anons fear when someone suggests their Oshi starts getting hardcore.

This is the cause of a lot of streamer drama, when something flares up and they're forced to take sides. Hololive talents get to shut up and let it blow over - no one comments on Sio, for example. People like him can't - their reputation depends on it.
The issue is no one trusts him not to do another 180 when its convenient to him, and collabs and interactions lend him legitimacy to normalfags. If it becomes convenient to rub the faces of vtubers in the dirt, he'll do so. An example of such an affair is the whole #metoo stuff in the DOTA community last year. A lot of people who clearly didn't hold inherently strong opinions towards a certain shoutcaster had to come out and condemn him before the pitchforks could be turned on them.
This is why comparatively fewer people sperge out about collabs with people like kokorobeats or Sugita, versus people like him and TT.
