It's also quite humorous how the PIWOCHAN thing has grown. Tho that bitcheer about it in Zen's channel is beginning to make me think that maybe it should be put to bed. Did she? I don't recall. I try to keep it to the ones who hang out with them the most. Bunny and Momo are right now collabing with Zen and they do this regularly. Those two are also often in the big VRChat streams they do for birthdays and holidays and such, along with Snuffy and obviously Veibae. I'm wavering on MiraPink, Natsumi Moe, and Oppaipantsu because they're definitely friends with the girls, but don't do much with them. I wont ever include CDawgVA because he has his own fanbase and isn't a vtuber anyway.

ye it will be fanmade movies apparently from what vei said on her stream. Those can be shown on stream, several big streamers have shown those before so it should be fine as they never got into trouble for it.

Personally i wouldn't mind a running timer either on the screen if they decide to watch actual movies at some point when they run out of fanmade movies. Eastern vtubers already known to do that. Where they comment on the movie while hiding the movie (video+audio), and show a running timer on screen on where the movie is playing at, so even viewers that come into the stream later can find out where the movie is at currently.

I would not add Moe. She just does her own thing and any interaction with VShojo is very rare in terms of on stream collabs, like once every six months or so.

And even then it's usually her appearing on their streams, not them appearing on Moe's. Just leave her for the occasional talk and stream link in /wvt/.

I can't comment on the other two as I don't watch them, but like you said if they don't do much, leave them to other threads where they're more suited.

Japan's copywright laws are even more extreme than the US's, so that's part of it, but I'm not sure how much of what they use is really against fair use clauses. DMCA risks are there, which is why they rarely use copywritten music (at least beyond a few seconds) and this extends often to video games where most of them will cut the official game soundtrack in favor of music that has been purposely produced to be DMCA free (free to use tracks are all over YouTube and most of them have playlists full of those).

As for why they can play games and such, probably because most US game companies don't give much of a fuck because it's free advertising.

She's technically risking DMCA but what really matters is how long you play it. I don't know what the actual limit is but I feel like it's 10-30 seconds based on context and if you go any higher than that and the audio is clear enough a bot can get it. Otherwise it would have to be manually flagged. Fair use is pretty shaky anyway, it's intentionally vague to be argued on a case by case basis. It's notoriously expensive to defend in court even if you're in the right. Companies prefer to manage their risk, though there was a time when Cover was a lot less careful about it before they got burned by Capcom.

Being indie isn't really a protection, IP holders just less likely to care but there are exceptions and some companies are pretty aggressive about their copyright.

They don't always collab together. They were all invited by Noble to do this, because Noble knows Melody and Mousey (and Nagzz) and then asked Nyanners to join (or had Mel and Mouse ask her).

Mousey will collab with anybody, really. She does Dark Souls with Nyan, and is now doing at least two collabs with Hime. In the past Mousey has done a lot with Silver and Zen, too. Melody is probably Mouseys' best friend so they do a lot together. The only one that Mousey hasn't done a lot with is Froot beyond the big group collabs. She also has done collabs with Connor and wants to collab with Nijisanji people (and HL people but that's out).

Nyan generally collabs with Mousey and Veibae but doesn't do a lot of other collabs. Probably because she's a social retard, but also because she's got her own plans for things and only goes outside of those when her normal stream times aren't happening.

Melody has actually not been doing a ton lately period, and I think it has to do with her upgrades she's trying to do. Even CB is cut down. Normally Mel will collab with just about anybody in the group but has a large circle of friends.

So they don't exclusively collab together, but they do a lot that's true. SIlver is the one who has been not doing a lot of collabs lately beyond with her own mother. Part of that was her working on her tracking upgrades and the other part is she streams really late at night. Froot and Zen collab together often, and Zen also collabs with just about anybody (regularly with Bunny and Momo).
