Because it was the only thing besides her shitty rap she cared about and put more than 0 effort into.
Ina and Amelia don't seem to like ttrpg'ing though. Maybe someone in council, ID or irys could replace them. Also Mori DM'ing varies between acceptable and sleep inducing. That mirror session was garbage and barely had the players do anything.

I'm sure they'll finish it, but the last three episodes have been plagued by the EN curse, so it might be awhile before Calli gets over her PTSD.

Sounds pretty run-of-the-mill to me.

>> No.17946920

because DnD shit sucks and it was incredibly stupid to think them playing characters while playing a character was a good idea when most of them can't act for shit as it is. most of them also clearly did not want to do it and now they've been dragged into it for so many streams, each stream getting less viewers than a solo gura stream. what a completely fucking stupid idea straight from the shit heap that is calli's mind.

>> No.17946941

>>17946098
Eh, last session killed it for me with the forced character resolution where all the relevant NPCs coincidentally turned up as a group. Except for Ina's because she forgot about her. World of Darkness is a bit of a shitter anyway, Kiara and Gura clearly wanted more of a power fantasy out of this. I hope another member picks up DMing for a high fantasy game.

>Ina and Amelia don't seem to like ttrpg'ing though
Ina is uninterested pretty much in anything. Ame on the other hand was having her fun you could see it. She just didn't want to interfere Kiara and Gura who was new to this and Ame probably had some experience in TT imo.

Because after the first initial rush, it quickly became an odious uninspired obligation that long overstayed its welcome and more and more girls exuded "ugh, I'd rather not be here / thank god it's over" -energy as the sessions dragged on, and none of them seem to be in any hurry to pick it up again, which should clue you in as to why.

If (big if) a new TTRPG ever gets started, I hope the people involved look at and learn from the mistakes of the first season.
Do only smaller, self-contained scenarios that can be completed in 1 or 2 sessions max, instead of trying to force it into being an overambitious season-long "series". Also most importantly, instead of trying to coordinate too many people over too many timezones just because you think it absolutely NEEDS to always be a full-gen collab (which invariably always leads to some girls being always grumpy tired nonresponsive, and scheduling nightmares lead to sessions being spaced out so far apart that everyone has always forgotten everything again), rather just make it with a smaller group of 2-3 people max, but whom are at least full focussed and highly committed instead of deadweight. Quality, not quantity

Should just run old school B/X D&D or something similarly simple.
Any RPG where anyone but the DM has to know the rules tends to be for the kind of people who want to buy RPG books and theorycraft rather than play.
Dungeon crawls also lend themselves to one-shot and continous play equally well.

I think about it from time to time. All things considered it was pretty good. Such a shame they didn't finish it.
It was silly of me to hope they would run multiple campaigns with different people. I never managed to hook my friends, and I saw many other groups fall apart, but I thought that these girls would somehow be different, not sure why.

I don't know about Ame - she always seemed to me like one of the girls that were less into the ttrpg than others. Could be because of the character type she was playing that she came off as more passive, could be because she's a always kind of a wet blanket in big collabs in general, but I didn't get the feeling she was very gung ho about the rpg, and I didn't really get the impression that she's eager and lining up for it to continue.

As for your other points in general, sure, while the image of "hapless DM struggling with the wacky hijinks of zany murderhobos" is funny at first for a little while, it gets old pretty fast, because you can only hear "...and then I kill on them and poop on them" etc. so much before it gets boring and the "wacky lolsorandumb" becomes the stale expected routine. If they can keep it to one or two sessions it may be manageable, but another season-long "arc" of bullshit just like this is dreadful. Not to say I only want "serious" roleplaying, just something more inventive and focused than just "haha I'm being intentionally obnoxious and le funni about my choices"

>> No.17948132

So there's apparently one person who's never been available when they try to schedule this. Is that the person who was going to drop out and then changed their mind for whatever reason?

>> No.17948362

>>17948113
It's hard to get a tell on Ame. If we're going by her preferences I'd say this isn't for her, but she's into some weird shit you wouldn't think she'd have the patience for. I'd have included Ina instead, but her sleep schedule sucks.

I get what you mean otherwise, I think they'd get bored of it too without any proper consequences to what they're doing. Gura was getting to that point in Calli's, doing dumb disconnected shit because Calli hadn't punished her for it yet. She's the sort to get the most invested into the story though, her pilot session was one of the most tense because of that.

>> No.17948417

>>17948132
If that was really the only problem issue, they could've just been upfront about it and written that person off the show with a nice send-off, and just carry on with the rest. Didn't they already say it was ok and expected that some people would drop in and out, and that was no problem and the ttrpg would adapt and continue, even with fewer people?

The more likely explanation is that it was not just ONE mysterious person (because if it were, see above, that shouldn't really bring the whole TTRPG for everyone else also to a halt, if they really actually wanted to continue), but multiple people more or less dropping out, either explicitly or indirectly by conveniently not finding the time on their schedule for it anymore ("yeah uh sorry, this date doesn't work for me... no that one doesn't either...") because they're actually not all that enthused for what is only really Mori's pet project that everyone else more or less just half-heartedly went along with, but have long since grown bored and the "hiatus" is just a face-saving way to imply "cancellation" (at least for now, with this full group of people, until maybe a another more excited group of new people is formed)
