The psychological effect of big numbers is interesting. Looking at Gura's VODs, her recent big number VODs (Mordhau, ARK, Bully first stream, ARceus) keep increasing by very decent margins. The low view vods are chugging along at a slow pace ,even when its the same game (like Bully).
This is why it's utterly baffling to me that youtube would ever "fix" the CCV to cull tab viewers. Do they not realize how much twitch is mogging them just on that one thing alone?

I have a schizo theory, YT used to interpolate the numbers received so they looked smooth, then we had the ccvid back in dec 2021 where pretty much everyone in japan complained, so they reversed the changes that caused it
but that had a secondary effect, the interpolation concealed the real problem and made them work extra hard to figure out what's the real problem, the missing queued updates of viewers being verified, so they disabled the interpolation and every "1 view" we see, it's one time we see an error/missing communication with the verification server
this goes back to the theory of EN vtubers being affected because of the location of theiir channels and the location of their viewers, basically, the <local/JP> servers (probably a UDP protocol) can't keep up with the queues of foreign users and that's why they are dropping
