Does that mean it's basically going to be a lesser-quality "home 3D" arrangement, where they get their full 3D model, but have to make it work themselves in their own home. Basically just a slightly more elaborate version of what we already got with the VRchat streams. So they still have to manage all the body tracking etc with their existing off-the-shelf personal tech devices, which basically guarantees it will still be janky as fuck (see for example the cheapo "3D streams" some smaller corpos like Cyberlife put out, yeah sure it may be a full quality 3D model, but eveything else is still VRchat-tier amateur jank).

Or does that mean Cover actually did something useful for once and actually rented out some professional studios in NAmerica/Europe, so that the quality of equipment and tracking will at least be also up to the usual standards? Somehow I doubt that, given my low expectations of their handling of their non-JP branches.

If any of you should be angry at anyone, it should be management. They are the ones who give guidance as how to announce big events. When it came to outfits, gen songs, merch, etc., they forced them to announce it during collabs to generate the necessary hype. This time, they simply gave the permission for anyone in EN or ID to announce it at their discretion after Feb. 1st, and Mori happened to be the first one streaming after this lift. Management likely did this because to "properly" announce this means having an enormous EN+ID collab, which they don't have time anymore to coordinate before the fes itself. Was announcing this on a solo stream a good idea? Probably not. But if this was really an issue, there would have been discussion amongst the girls before the Feb. 1 to figure out how to spread the news. The fact that Mori announced it herself shows that no one believed they had to make a big collab to announce the news
