Honestly I don't think calliope mori has ever made a quality piece of music. I've listened to her discography as well as consulted /mu/ about it and the consensus seems to be that she was just in the right place at the right time. If it weren't for her status as the musician in the introductory English gen at peak Hololive popularity I don't believe her music would be very popular. Simply because there is nothing that sets her apart as an artist. Her work is derivative with weak lyricism, stilted flows, subpar singing voice, and overall poor delivery. The only redeeming trait would be the production which has been average at best.

So not only can she not actually make music, her lyrics are usually the shittiest part and bring the quality of the song down. Plus her voice is just not good. She's not that good at rap, and not that good at singing, and the tone of her voice itself is just awkward to listen to.

Views would say otherwise but there a lot of artist with crap song with a ton of views because of nostalgia or it was a hit in a particular time. Take RIP for example at 28 million+. Still gets 200k views a week, even though she's made better songs than it. I can only guess it's because it's her first song and the shock value of her dropping "fuck it" at the height of the vtuber boom in America that is still pushing it.
