yugioh is only fun when the person on the other side agrees on an intermediate power level where Solitaire strategies aren't prevalent, but thats the same argument as "It's fun with friends" which applies to everything

What actually happens is that you press DUEL with your fun deck and get matched against a tryhard cancer meta deck that goes off for 5 minutes on turn 1 if you aren't playing the required handtrap staples which fill 50% of your deck while they start jerking their deck back and forth until they have a 10k/10k monster on the field that negates all spells and can't be destroyed.

Yugioh went from being a slow ass game by the nature of how summoning works to filling and emptying a field in one turn due to extra deck autism, and mtg went from shitting out infinites turn 3 to having games actually go into late game and making things with over 4 cmc actually playable.

Why do people want vtubers to play Yugioh so badly? Very few of them are playing close enough to the meta to have fun with it and watching actual high level play is the opposite of fun. Modern yugioh is knowing the precise pain point for each archetype where your single hand trap might derail them and while that might be fun (?) for someone as a player, it's not very interesting to watch play out on stream for an hour or more. Practically every other card game out there would be a more enjoyable watching experience, even Hearthstone.
