I've been here since the Hopium era and even contributed on the edits.
First time that something truly clicked in something VTubing-related once the model reveal happened. Then there's the themes, the lore (the attire and the details) and everything surrounding the pre-/who/ threads, there's always something magical to these threads even if debut /who/ and nowadays /who/ are two different beasts, much like our owl. Seeing the evolution of the threads and Mumei's own evolution as a character and a person is still the wild ride I was looking for.

Fun fact : when Mumei was still a shadowy figure before the reveal, I first thought she was a moth and not an owl.

I would like to take a moment to enthusiastically and unreservedly praise all of Council. This generation of girls is the most incredible I've ever seen. Sana is an adorable shitposting Pokemon autist with a gorgeous accent. Kronii's voice is 100% sex and she manages to have great gap moe by being awkward when she tries to be cool and cool when she tries to be awkward. Fauna is just one of the most relaxing human beings alive, and the way she plays with her chat is great. Bae is an absolute stream machine who is so open and personable that it's honestly touching. And Mumei, our owl, is a genuine comedic genius with the most beautiful voice I've ever heard.

For all of Cover's faults and foibles, these motherfuckers just don't miss when it comes to talent scouting and vetting, and they hit it out of the park with Council especially. Council Love! Moom Love!

Individually, they're incredibly talented girls, but their collabs were often (though certainly not always) hit-or-miss outside of a few guaranteed great pairings. The HoloCouncil Meetings and the MC Portal Arc (for all the faults we an find for blockgame, it's always a great hub to see all these people interact and without it we would"t have witness the first unofficial collab with Gura during the first month collab ban) did really helped them to cement how close on stream they are and how great their chemistry is. I really enjoyed the first month and the Portal Arc behind that and the constant hunt for a surprise appearance was a amazing event, that was just on top of all the 1:1 collabs that happened.

Also and unrelated to the subject and we don't know if the next schedule or next couples of ones that will drop in the future will have that, but now there's a good good chance that Mumei will host the next HoloMeeting Council now that Fauna and Kronii recently hosted theirs in the new rotation and Bae and Sana were also part of that rotation for theirs (Pico Park and the Cake Party).

Anyways, I skipped the entire Council debut 'cause I hardly had time for the few girls I was still watching on a daily basis. Random clip of Minecraft fanfics shows up on my feed. I don't even watch Gura (it was from her POV). Find it honestly pretty funny and even nostalgic with how lite cringy it was. Exploring the other POVs, I get to Mumei's fanfic which is just the lyrics to Fall Out Boy's "Sugar, We Are Going Down". Interest instantly picked. Finally, I watch Mumei's POV and she's instantly a HOOT to watch. Search for her karaoke songs hoping to just hear her sing vintage Fall Out Boy. She delivers TSSF and Wonder Years flawlessly, as well as some other alt rock gems I didn't expect Holomems to sing (even rock songs that I didn't like that much come out amazing with her voice). It was time to catch up on her backlog and upcoming streams. Every single one of them is packed full with memorable moments. (Her stance on SC reading is also refreshing). Hooked ever since. By the time the preparation for the Mario Kart Tournament happened, it was hard to avoid severe Gosling moments. How she keeps delivering even on stuff I don't usually like (meme reviews, cooking streams) is pure joy to watch. It reminds me of Korone at times, always finding new ways of not being bored.

Other than these threads being a little fast for my taste, they are also pretty damn cozy with just the right amount of shitposting, which enriches the Mumei experience.

Tl;Dr: the owl is too precious.

I found the Council to be a bit boring off the gate in general, but Mumei seemed the more waifu-able of the five, so I started watching her. She never stopped getting cuter and pushing herself to do better and better and at the time she only streamed 2 hours a day which fit my schedule very well.

Unfortunately, nowadays I have trouble keeping up with all the content coming out of the owl, but it's been a real blast watching her grow as a streamer. I really hope she gets filthy rich by the time she inevitably graduates, I just hope it's a long time from now.

As a jap I didn't really follow vt and the hopium train pre-debut. Although I watched hololive a lot I didn't really have an oshi (Suisei would be the closest although I spend the most time watching Korone). Mumei stood out the most to me as I like ponytail and from debut she unusually for a en vtuber made cute noises better than even most jap vtubers. After I watched her dig a hole in the ground for an hour I figured she was definately my oshi. She has since proved to be even better.

It's the less well defined S-Sound she got. It's most well pronounced in her 'shucks' but shows up pretty much anywhere you got that sound.
Also somewhat pronounced in her OG Song, despite that still have been recorded on her old Mic and most people didn't really notice the lisp as much until after she got her new Mic, during the Pokemon stream that followed after (quieter streams with a larger ratio talking)
