the most sensible theory is that fans made them too uncomfortable and they broke it off while maintaining friendship offline
it's also possible they had some sort of fight and made up but the relationship isnt what it used to be

It was a surprise to see a bunch of Holos start streaming in a slot that was pretty much dominated by Pekora and Subaru for a long time in 2021, but it makes sense when you think about it.
HoloX spooked a lot of Holos with their immense, initial popularity (which they've managed to retain pretty well). They realized they had to put their asses into gear so they wouldn't be left in the dust.
