I'm one of the people who enjoys the flow of big chats and I enjoy seeing the "waves" of topics from tons of people expressing similar things. Not going to say it's like a 16th century peasant going to church or anything, but I can see how the word 'community' when noticing those topical waves with thousands of people might be relevant. Reminds me of how people get goosebumps when crowd-singing, except text.

From a clipfag normie reddit tier lurker perspective I'd say this: I'd rather have Youtube recommend me a lot of small clippers that clip small chuubas and then choose what I like tailored to my interests and follow these niche streamers. Instead what I'm offered is "sub to a big clipper that we think everyone like and let them command whoever you will watch this month based on their whim and mood". Echo chamber algorithms are definitely a part of the problem.
