I really like how flare's new outfit feels like the upgrade of her original outfit that she always hated (even if I liked the design more than her others) and I hope this will make her feel better and get her to 1 million subscribers as I can't imagine the sadness she must feel having half the subscribers as all her other gen mates and being the only one to not reach 1 million

It's kind of insane how racist the VTuber fanbase is. To the extent that a dark-skinned VTuber will receive less views solely for that reason. I wouldn't want to be a VTuber if I knew most of the people watching me were like that. Of course I wouldn't get a dark-skinned model anyway since I'm white. Not everyone wants to have sex with feet, fetish designs are meant to appeal to a niche, not to be mainstream. And stop pretending any of these characters are black, it confirms you for someone who has only a surface-level understanding of Japanese media. The other characters aren't white either. Tanned characters in manga/anime get tons of love and have huge communities dedicated to wanting to have sex with them, but they are still a niche. All you have to do to capitalize on their support is lean into it more. You could have less subscribers but way more money donated in that scenario. The thing is Flare doesn't want that community, that's all. Which is fine, but her choosing to go the route that gets her less is still a choice she made. Notice she chose to get most of her skin covered too.

I honestly prefer the old outfit over the new one. The new one has way too much white and needs some more blue to balance it out. Maybe lower her socks so we see some more skin. It's more colorist than racist and many Asian cultures have an indigenous preference for lighter shades of their own skin.
I think there's some merit to the idea that lighter skin is more neotenous (children of all groups tend to gain extra pigmentation as they age) and the anime / moe aesthetic is based on ultra neotenous features. Most anime characters and vtuber models have lighter skin than their Japanese creators probably because they perceive it as cute.
