Some of my favorite games are strats, but honestly, I wouldnt watch any of my favorite chuubas play crusader kings of europa universalis, hearts of iron, etc. Something lighter turn based might be more suitable. I've played hours and hours and HOURS of civ 5. Would I want my fav chubba to play it on stream? Gods no, it'd be boring as watching paint dry for 90% of the time, and would be, frankly, absolutely brutal to watch as a full stream. These strategy games are far more interesting to watch as edited videos in the 20-30min range where all the boring loading and routine ->next turn shit get edited out.
Like, I could see a set of silly bullshit mod challenges that can be done in a 2-3 hour sitting being interesting as a one-off, but for anyone looking to entertain a bigger audience on stream I'd say "don't do it".

There's too much off stream meta knowledge check for many strat game. They also bring in fucking autistic backseaters like no other.
Something like xcom or divinity sin (more on divinity sin as it is more casual, story centric, and forgiving on builds and gameplay) might be okay streaming material though.

As much as I love RPG games they just don't make the best stream game. They're slow, a lot of them are at least 60% - 70% story, some of them take lots of grinding, lots of them are very long, and just in general these games take focus, and time making them both bad games from streaming gameplay wise, and chit chat wise.

About the only times I've seen it work is when the streamer can create a story to overlay the game, in something like CK2 or XCOM.
That gives an avenue of engagement to people who don't get all the autistic shit going on. Make them care about some characters, with the streamer making up most of the detail and just using game events as a framework.
Not easy to pull off, but just playing them straight is boring as sin.

These type of games require a high level of skill and deep knowledge to make interesting for a stream, neither of which a casual female gamer possess. Strategy games are awfully bad for streaming due to the nature of it's content. Viewers'd need to know a lot of contexts that aren't immediately available unless you tune in from the very beginning. Strategy games also have varying pacing issues that it could take hours for anything to happen to react and comment to.
Unless the game in question also has a semi-linear narrative that the streamer can work with between dull times (Sengoku Rance for example), then the stream in question wouldn't be worthwhile to begin with.

A long time ago Kiara played Three Houses. But she played it on casual mode.
FE youtubers will do challenge runs and play custom romhacks and shit. While a vtuber that does that sort of stuff could carve a niche it just isn't possible for the average chuuba to really play a strategy game.
If a chuuba was really good at AoE/starcraft etc that would be a different thing but otherwise they're a genre that won't help any chuuba draw in viewers. On occasion you'll see them play one for variety or if a chuuba's gimmick is playing weird games then maybe, as well.

Anon, as much as I like strategy games, they are utterly retarded to look at for an extended period of time unless you are specifically searching for information or certain moment within a video (like strats or memes).
The only more or less OK RTS games they could try to play (try, don't expect even average skills) is probably XCOM or Halo Wars 2 but only because the first one is well known and a meme fountain and the second one's matches are very fast and don't extend into hours unless your opponent is a retard trying to force you to quit by wiping your stuff over and over and just hold ground, not even advancing.

Even if that were to happen, it would still be a massive shitshow as probably 1 or 5 of all the girls has likely played some strategy and some of them likely believe that turn-based RPG combat is part of the strategy genre somehow, it wouldn't be interesting at all unless we are talking about one of the girls who do Zatsudan very well so they can stop the audience from falling asleep (like Marine but I doubt she will ever play an RTS like the ones expected)
