Extra is pretty generic but the buildup of Unlimited and utter kino of Alternative matches and in my opinion, even surpasses some of the good moments in Fate/Stay Night. Not to say you're not right too, of course, it's a really good VN as well.

The pacing of all VNs is hit or miss though. There's good parts and there's bad parts, especially with multiple routes.

If anyone knows of a VN with good pacing and plot for all routes, let me know.

I tried to read it "properly" but the friend that recommended it to me said "just fast forward the bad parts" and it was the best advice ever. In fact it is great advice for reading VN overall.
