Lui is uncanny. Her streaming persona is just a normal everyday person, which clashes with the fantastical nature of her avatar. I think L2D is a debuff, and being a regular everyday 3DPD streamer would suit her more. Even if she's not a looker, I assume she can still exercise and wear a mask. Unless she really drew a bad lottery ticket, in which case I suppose it can't be helped.

Regardless, I believe Vtubers are at their best when the streamer is being a tongue in cheek chuuni and playing a character. If a vtuber isn't going to play along with kayfabe then being a vtuber is just a waste. As a point of fact, not every person is a good fit for any given medium.

I honestly think Lui has the potential to be another Flare. She'll never be the biggest in her gen, but she will be able to carve out a dedicated niche and live comfortably. Also, just like Flare, she does surprisingly well in SC despite her lower view numbers, it's just hard to see because she's in a gen with the SC monster trio of Chloe, Iroha, and Koyori.
