Personally I highly prefer Youtube as a viewer so I'm leaning towards streaming on that but twitch does seem a bit better as a small streamer for getting noticed.

Yes, I do. But I'm not too well versed on authors and their theories. I do however like to ponder different perspectives on certain issues because it makes me fascinated to use it as a topic of conversation. Sometimes I end up using a theory I never read because of that.

1 - no, even if they were, i wouldn't care. they're an entertainer and i'm watching them for the content they provide. if they have irl issues, i'll wish them the best, but it's not my place.

Nova would be a solid pick for NijiEN imo. She's fully fluent in Japanese (she's half-Japanese though she lives in Canada) and is pretty keyed into what is popular in the western vtube community.

I don't necessarily think she's an elite tier streamer or anything but given that NijiEN is still relying on a handful of IN managers (lol) to handle stuff, having someone who is pretty experienced at doing stuff as a sort-of indy (she's in Hanamori, but that's more of a group than a company) and who can communicate with the JP side is a big plus.

PNG is perfectly fine. Are you aware of the discord trick some of the PNG chuubas use? I think its using voice activation to make it a bit less static. Not a chuuba myself, so I cant give you a pointer, but there should be plenty who can help you out with it if you are interested.
As far as PNG chuubas go, check out Little_S_. He is the most "professional PNG chuuba" I know of, he actually puts in a lot of effort and can cycle between many images. If you like what he does and maybe try it yourself, I have heard that he is very easy to talk to, so maybe just drop a Twitter DM.
If you have some questions regarding rigging, surely someone here can also give you some pointers. There are one or two lurking who learned to make their own art and L2D rigging, so maybe they want to charge some insights.

I don't think it's cringy, just got a bit bland but that's not a real big problem. I think he would benefit more from streaing 2-3 times a week.
For his lectures I prefer topics that are not very serious, otherwise it always comes off as shallow for me, the monster girl one is a good example of when it hit well. And I actually liked his gaming streams since they created nice tangents so it's a shame they don't happen anymore.
