Hololive is SPECIAL (and Nijisanji too, but to a less extent) that the clipper ecosystem that's been built around them heavily feeds back into Hololive itself. There's a reason why the recommendations of "Oh, Hololive should all do the clips themselves and reap the profits" is foolish at best, and malicious at worst. Those clippers amplify the footprint that Hololive has on the YT algo landscape.
It's why both the large vtuber corpos would be absolutely FOOLISH to move base over to Twitch unless it was as a last resort, as they'd be giving up a huge advantage that they wouldn't have on Twitch.

It's not about being recommended streams directly, its about sinking into the absolute MIRE that is Hololive content, be it clips, streams, fan animations or the like.
The more exposed you are to Hololive 'stuff', the more likely you'll eventually click one of those links that goes directly to a Holomem's channel and hit that sub button. It's 100% a viable tactic because the only exclusivity contracts I know of are Twitch partner/affiliate and when a platform pays for someone to come to their platform. Examples of the latter are when Ninja and Shroud got bought by Mixer and when Valkyrae and Ludwig got bought by YouTube.
The fact that Miko and Pekora even have Twitch accounts and have streamed there before is already proof that they're not bound by exclusivity on YouTube. Streamlabs also makes it even easier by offering a simulcast service https://streamlabs.com/multistream bundled with their paid service if you don't want to use 3 times the bandwidth.
The only downside I can see for doing this is that you split your audience between multiple platforms, but this just means that people can watch you on their platform of choice. There's literally no downside for anyone who isn't in an exclusivity contract to do this and I have no idea why more people don't.

This is averaged across by Total watch time (by users) / Unique users who viewed a video, and is NOT publicly available data and thus has to either be shown from the private analytics page or revealed by a streamer. I don't think any Hololive member has stated what their average watch time is, so we can only guess/approximate.

It's purely for EPEEN measuring, and kind of blurs together those that stream for absolutely UNGODLY hours and those that stream to large audiences for short amounts of time. It is, by itself, an absolutely useless metric if not paired with other data and is the epitome of "BIG NUMBER > SMALL NUMBER" that discards all context. If paired with other metrics, it lets you find out interesting things.

Unlikely because they still have real numbers after a day or two. Inaccurate live viewership has some small effects on the brand, but abandoning your ecosystem (clippers, fan content, algo recs, content ID in your favor, songs and streams in the same place, bigger native language audience) would have a bigger long-term effect.

The smaller the supporting ecosystem the more likely people will move. Indies and small corpos will be first, backup channels on Twitch are going to be more commonplace, but Niji and Holo will only full move if there's additional problems that affect the bottom line.

This is true on the hard-work part. I think the only Council member that fits the description of inclining via hard work is Bae. I've been watching Hololive since late 2019 and Bae's current state right now gives me ~early 2020 Subaru vibes. She's set herself to explode in subs anytime soon. Just needs that external spark to get her trending. You can't really predict what goes viral, but Bae's content is already diversified enough that it can come from a bunch of sources: Koreans, BaeRyS, VA skits, karaoke, rat review, cross-branch collabs, etc.

You can't really say the same about Sana. The only real thing she has going for her is the ability to dump a crapton of hours in 1 game.
