I miss when Kanata did more boke instead of being the tsukkomi. I know she probably stopped because she wasn't confident in her jokes but I remember thinking that she was changing and forcing the tsukkomi more. I miss a lot of Kanata's old mannerisms but she can't stay the same forever

Knowing Kanata there's a chance the alt outfit highlights her growth, she already separates "original Kanata" from her current self and just recently mentioned her old archives feeling different. If that really is the case then I understand her desire to use this one more on top of it being really fucking great and suiting all her personal tastes.

I guess it depends on the person but I think vtuber's avatar does contribute to how they see themselves and behave. Kanata most likely doesn't hate her original model but I'm willing to bet she considers this one more fitting right now. Fits the lore too since it's her working uniform and "grown-up" models see more use than originals for vtubers who have them.

I still can't believe that mushroom she used just to get hit by Okayu's red shell. It was an almost guaranteed second place. Hell, she might have even scored first place in the group if not for that. With the way she's been talking about it since last year and all of the attention she's been giving to Sayuri and her family lately, it's to be expected that the dire news will come sooner rather than later. I know. It's hard to overstate how amazing I think it is that she can reproduce and adapt this arrangement on her own just by listening and copying, specially for a song full of jazzy chords and complicated arrangements like this one, but you can't deny the brass sounds like shit, and the mixing as a whole is kind of lackluster. I know that Kanata used to make some instrumental tracks for her utawakus, and there's also Uma to Shika for which she not only made the instrumentals but also created a completely original arrangement that worked great with the song, not to mention the voice arrangements she did for her 2nd anniversary which were mindblowingly good, so I really hope she tackles this kind of thing again eventually now that she's learning more about mixing and music production. It's a huge talent she has and it would be a shame to see it go to waste. Fortunately she seems to want to go in that direction seeing how she's already started to mix and compose her own songs, so there's a lot to look forward to.

I don't think Kanata was the one who selected the sound font/VSTs for that cover, just did the arrangement. Which is great as always. It's a moot point these days either way since Kiseki Knot used proper instruments and sounds on the level of other Hololive songs produced by famous industry personalities.

Kanata is getting more into mixing and mastering too, her talks about plugins and such promise even more experiments in the future and I can't wait to hear it all. Self-production is really hard to learn but so satisfying when it goes right.
