Thats good that she's still working on it. I just hope she doesn't fully commit to playing AC and still play a bit of Minecraft every now and then. I think AC is ok for something that the Council girls + IRyS can do together, but Minecraft is still the gateway for various interactions with the JP girls.

Nah. She herself admits that her best zatsu stream was with Irys and Mori. She also puts a lot of importance in banter. If she can banter with the other person, she's most comfortable. There is also the fact that Bae always trails around Irys during big collabs. Just look at how jealous she was during the Christmas vr collab. Last thing to point out is the fact that Bae is able to be herself most comfortably around Irys. She can talk smack or be a weeb around her and Irys will take it. Just look at how she ordered Irys around today. She barely asked permission. They did a lot of stuff together without Bae feeling ever bad that she might taking Irys's time and Irys was happy to support her. And we know now that they do talk a lot offline and Irys apparently helped her with some work too. Shipping aside, they are great partners that draws a lot of content from one another and are great friends that are on the same wavelength. Nah. I'm only saying that the BaeRys pairing is far better than the Mubae because of the fact that it highlights a lot of Bae's charm. She doesn't struggle in any way to be entertaining when she's with her and has full control of where it leads. Their closeness offline is just a plus because it is apparent that they support each other in the background. You are talking about ships in a love pair dynamic when I'm talking about Bae and how it affects her and her content. She has done great content every time she is playing solo with Irys +1-2 people around. Pairings is so much more about teetee. It's about whether or not it can bring out something new that viewers haven't seen before. She's also doing chadcast with Irys and Mori so that is also good thing. She just gets more out of this partnership because they have great dynamic. The whole fanfic thing was a really good show of that. For the most part what he's trying to say is that BaeRyS does a nice job highlighting the good points of Bae. There is equal chances for both IRyS and Bae to shine based on their interaction. The ship doesn't feel overbearing at all and it just comes off extremely natural compared to something like TakaMori that might feel forced at times.

On the other hand, a lot of MuBae interactions looks one-sided in a tourist perspective where most of the time its Mumei that shines in the collab. Whether its intentional or not, Mumei just has a knack of taking over the pace of conversations so it looks like the other party is getting Lex Luthor'd. I brought a friend whose never watched Hololive to see the Council panel at AnimeNYC. He came out of that panel with Mumei as his favorite for the reason I cited above. Because of this, Bae will more or less be a second fiddle in that relationship in the perspective of watching their streams. I think the ship that works best with Mumei is KronMei mainly because of how both their autism complements each other with either girl standing out at various moments.

The first CHaD interaction on Mori's channel is a good example because it revealed how much of a massive weeb Bae is. Prior to that interaction the only time she went that hard on otaku topics is during her membership stream. And as more collabs between Bae and IRyS/Calli happens the more interesting things gets revealed about Bae which is just great for fans and tourists checking out Bae.

Group B is extremely stacked in the top 3 with Aqua/Suisei/Towa almost guaranteed to take that spot. That group of 3 is also who most people predict to take top 3 in the finals bracket. Top 6 is more open since only Pekora and Gura stand out in the group past the top 3.

Group D is weaker in terms of top 3 players. Marine did place 3rd last time but I have a hard time believing she can beat Towa this year. Fubuki and Luna are strong but they are not Finals top 3 material. Then you have 4-6 of Group D which has a wider pool of people to choose from compared to Group B. Here you have Shion, Shuba, Ina, Lui, maybe Reine.

This leaves the remaining players to be Kiara/Nene/Bae. Kiara looks more solid than Bae at this point due to more experience playing online multiplayer MK. Meaning that last place is going to be a fight between Bae and Nene.

Obviously this is Mario Kart and there is a lot of variance that will shift the placement of people. But that doesn't change the fact that Bae is going to have a hard time making it to Top 6 to clear the group stage

There are 4 groups to start off. Imagine each group as a Tournament Lobby. All people inside that lobby will race against each other for 4 races. At the end they split up the group based on point total

>Top 1-3 go to Finals Group - 3x 4 groups = 12 players bracket
>Top 4-6 go to Zako Group, another 12 player bracket
>The remaining players are eliminated and can do whatever they want after.

Finals group will fight for the #1 best Hololive player for 2022. Zako group will fight to see which girls got shafted the most by Towa's seeding method and should have been in the Finals group. The girls who are eliminated will most likely be racing against each other while in VC. So if you want to see some nice JP/EN/ID interaction then check out these streams.

I guess the biggest confusion for me is how the Zako group is actually determined. Logically it makes sense to do 4-6. Bae and IRyS says its the last 3 of each group which sounds dumb because you'll have people falling off the stage on purpose to get in. I think what would make it fine is if they did a Yurukart format for the players who are eliminated. I actually love the Yurukart format since you get some really interesting combinations in VC like Peko/Miko/Koro that one time. As an Ausfag I'd say that the Australian accent on girls is generally rather unappealing, but less so due to the traits of the accent itself and more due to the associated cultural inclination of Australian girls to raise their voices at the end of any sentence like they're asking a question, which Bae thankfully doesn't do often. More generally, the typical Australian accent is seen as very unfeminine, and moreso the thicker it is, which would naturally be at odds with Bae being a very cutesy character. Australians also tend towards deeper tones of voice, which of course is far from Bae's default voice.
From my perspective the unique thing about her accent is how it's strayed from a typical accent, which I initially figured as largely modern Australian multi-cultural osmosis, but I guess now is probably at least partly Bae having worked to try and erase it even before she started streaming. Compare to Sana, whose accent is much thicker and more traditionally Australian.

All that said, I do really like her voice, in all the varieties of it I've heard. And she was still very immediately clearly Australian to me when I first heard her, as opposed to yanks and such who had a harder time placing her.

I think in general Bae is always looking for ways to improve herself. An example was how she brought up that her Japanese was getting worse and she would often stutter her words. I noticed it too when she spoke Japanese but I didn't think she would actually mention it.

Another one was her being smol Bae on today's stream because she realized how good the rest of the girls are at MK. Heck, I wouldnt be surprised she knows her weakness on solo gaming streams and that the MK training arc is one of the ways she is dealing with it.

And the best part of when she brings these things up is she isn't looking for the chat to comfort her and boost her self esteem. Honestly she had a lot of bad luck in terms of getting hit with items

I remember a few:
>Getting hit before taking the tube on Big Blue so lakitu has to slowly fly you to the top
>Hit with red shell before the middle boost platform near the end of SNES Rainbow Road

But a lot of Bae's mistakes are definitely her fault. She has a concept of racing lines now but she's sticking to it too much that she forgets the person in front is also doing the same. Then she rages that she doesn't get items because of it. Just have to learn to adjust on the fly and predict what item boxes the person in front will take. Bae is definitely capable of picking that up
