Are you confusing the original members with the rest of Hololive? The always-3D ones? They never changed.
The rest of them have zero generic tracking, it's literally their app mapped to the 3D models instead of the L2D model.
Covers shitty app is an embarrassment of development. It constantly fucks up and it pisses me off.
Not to mention the shitty UI controls that come on top of the models when they are changing things. I've been saying for years they need to get rid of that shit already and allow hotkeys to do it, or have some interface on the PC for changing it, instead of it showing on the damn capture window, it's annoying as shit.
They could make things better with the addition of hand tracking gear. There's some good neck trackers that can track in IR very accurately.

However, Hololive has just started to experiment with depth of field in their newest virtual concerts, something Nijisanji has had for the past 2 years.
