I just thought I would let everyone know what we're currently working on and our plans for future updates in regards to mechanics features and balance changes. Right now, I am working on implementing call and put options in lieu of shorts, which will likely come afterwards. I also want to add mutual funds so that players can form organizations that manage a collective portfolio that other players can invest in. Another potential feature is some kind of bank/treasury or a way for players to earn risk-free interest on their liquid, once we have all of these additional financial instruments to play with. In terms of balance changes that may come in the near future, we have discussed:
- More spread and volatility in daily adjustments
- A much higher transactional volatility rate that scales better with prices
- Higher limit on multicoin, potentially up to 8
- Lower taxes on multibuy but higher taxes on multisell (may have to wait for shorting on this one)
- Higher spread on dividends

Needs to be the inverse. Multibuy is self-incentivizing; you don't need to make it easier. People will do it regardless because it's a mechanic that benefits you more than the drawbacks can possibly bring. Multisell is ALREADY a borderline-useless function because the things it offers (quick money ASAP at the cost of more gradual/long-term profits), and cuts deeper into your profits than Multibuy does; you may as well delete the function now if you push that through without giving players a reason to need a bunch of money in an emergency.

Might be cool. Hard to say. I honestly think dividends are mostly fine in their current state; other aspects of the game are more pressing matters.

It likely means there's a larger range that dividends can appear in.
As an example, let's say that the market mean is $10.00 because it's 1852 and that's actually some money. With the current system, Dividends can be anywhere within $3 of that (barring some exceptions). So that means dividend payouts can be from $7 to $13, and anything in-between. If we increase that, it goes to, say $5 from mean, or $5~$15.
It would mean higher highs, but possibly lower lows.

I am suffering from depression myself. Hang in there, it's not something you can cure, but it is something you grow accustomed to and manage. I would advise to try to build up a support network of people closer to you whenever you are feeling slightly better (if you have periods like that), in your case likely from people who were your aquaintances before, family (unless the family situation is fucked), or people you'll meet in the future.
Also, this is just personal advice, but having plants slowly grow day by day gives a similar feeling of progress. Same with keeping a diary or a day plan as evidence that you did something. A new hobby can also give you a bit of fresh air temporarily.
The biggest issue with depression is that it's extremely hard to manage it on your own when you're depressed, since the advice I listed before becomes harder and harder the deeper in you are, like social interaction.
