I see. The thing is, more than narration, I was going for lyricality: that's why I gave myself the license to be florid. The focus is the feeling and the very moment itself, background being secondary. And as I said, this is just a portion―the end, actually―but I wanted an opinion before writing the rest (what comes before it).

But anon, I have no intention of writing pulpy, schlocky entertainment fiction, nor long pieces―five pages at most. In fact, the reason I've only read a few fics here is that they seem too long: if I had time to read, I'd read one of the many books in my booklist (which keeps growing T-T).
I like Jorge Luis Borges' principle: writing a whole book or world in few pages, in a short story. That's why I believe the condensity is justified.

The rest of what you say makes sense. Thanks for the advice.
By the way, I haven't read The Catcher in the Rye, but it sounds interesting. To my booklist it goes.

you lie on your bed listening to the gentle buzz of the ceramic heater you bought on clearance from walmart. you picked the blue one because it reminded you of your oshi, gawr gura. the button is even in the same place as her hoodie's shark mouth! you're spending the holidays alone this time because an unexpected snowstorm struck down just as you had moved out... but you don't mind.

"i know i should feel disappointed that i'm alone on christmas eve but i don't really feel anything," you think to yourself with a shrug. "although... i really wish i had someone small to cuddle with..." just then, you hear something faint. you lean up from your laying position and cup your ear: a knock on the door that sounds like it was made by a very tiny fist. you hesitantly get up and drag yourself to the door. "carolers?" you ponder...

you look through the peephole cautiously and see the cotton pompom of a little red santa hat blowing in the winter wind. you then notice a face buried underneath the crimson cap, for which the hat is much too large! you gasp and open the door.

"fueeeee~!!! it's cold out here, mister!" exclaimed the muffled voice from under the large hat. you instinctively pull her into your apartment, causing her to "a!" and shut the door behind you hastily. as you turn around to face your visitor, the reality of the situation sets in... YOU'RE SHARING CHRISTMAS WITH GAWR GURA~!

you scratch your head in confusion and she gives you a peculiar look. "what? you didn't believe me when i said i'd pick one random chumbud to keep company on christmas? well guess what buddy, i pulled your name from the jar and i expect you to hold up your end of the bargain! hehe!"
"wh-what bargain? how did you even get my address? i just moved out, anyways..."
"oh? why, my good friend pavolia reine helped me out! she can get information on anyone!"
"i see..." you're reminded that reine is has a very influential family and wonder if you were a tad too reckless on a certain mongolian basket-weaving forum.

"huh?!?" you exclaim with belated surprise as gura begins removing layers of her outfit. you can't believe the sight in front of you! she just showed up and she's making herself at home. your stomach begins to hurt... but at the same time, you're intrigued.

before long gura was wearing nothing but a charmeuse chemise that you could have swore consisted of sheer translucent tissue paper that had been haphazardly taped together and was beginning to fall apart. she then slid under your comforter and beckoned playfully with her shark tail: "wellllll~ are you gonna join me? huha..."

you were still frozen with shock. "j-j-join you...? gura, have you been drinking?!?" your voice was a shrill squeak like that of a mouse. "does this same-gaki have any idea what she's in for?" you think to yourself.

you rigidly begin making your way over to the bed before suddenly pausing. "i'm not sure this is such a good idea, gura... i mean what would the other chumbuds think?"
"listen, stinky, it was a fair game. i chose you from millions of unknowing participants. let's go~!"

you take a few more steps and reluctantly climb into your bed. your heart is pounding like a beatmap on expert+ difficulty and you can't feel your legs. with a giggle, the small shark girl clings to you and the sensation of 10 dainty frozen fingers grasping your bicep brings you back to your senses.

you take note that her aqua-colored fingernails are quite womanly for such a playful little shark. you stiffly rotate your neck and your eyes are met with two round, vivid blue orbs. gura's looking at you expectantly and you feel you must say something.

"er... what if we begin with a back rub?" you suggest.
"okay~!"
gura releases your arm from her icy clutches and turns over onto her belly, her tail making a noticeable bulge under the covers. you then pull one leg over her small, petite body and straddle her like a horse.

"hey, watch it!" you warn as gura's tail wagged uncontrollably from under you.
"hehe~ sorryyy! i can't help it!"
you place your hands gingerly on her back. "i've never done this before..." you murmur.

unlike her fingers, her back is considerably warmer to the touch and you never would have guessed how smooth her skin was. certainly not befitting of a shark. carefully, you begin kneading her shoulders...

i like how hard you leaned in to fubuki's dom aspects. it's a really refreshing take, exaggerating her sadistic tendencies, and i do think it fits really well... although maybe that's because i want her to tie me up and force me to call her mommy

Haven't read chapter two yet, but I did read chapter one. First, NTR where (You) are the one being cheated on/cucked is always going to upset people more than when it's someone else being hurt. That's pretty obvious and understandable.

Second, Foxes over Ducks didn't necessarily say Subaru and (you) are in a relationship, though it's heavily implied there are romantic feelings going both ways. Yeah, Subaru still gets the short end of the stick there and it's upsetting but there's nothing formal going on. That helps soften the blow a little bit as well.

I don't like NTR but can't help fap to it when the situation is mild enough and the art/text is hot enough to break the bad taste the subject leaves in my mouth. It's a little hypocritical but the dick knows what the dick wants.

I'm not telling you you can't, nor am I telling you it's too pretentious or doesn't belong here. I think unfortunately you missed the intent of my post. I'm trying to describe to you the disposition of the audience and structure necessary to give a more "lyrical" piece the reception it should have.

Of course, I could also be missing the point here, so in case I am, I'll restate. Probably less than a quarter of the stories here are competently written, and more than half of all of it is smut, but all of them have care and motivation put into the subject matter. Ultimately, fanfiction is a topic meant to satisfy your interest in a particular fandom through the written word. Unless your work shows a requisite amount of care and attention put in to immerse the reader with regards to a particular vtuber -- as they view that particular vtuber's character, mind you -- then it's not appealing to the audience. Whether or not that's pandering or pulpy, that's how it is. People are much less interested in your style of writing than they are in reading about vtubers. The most they want from you is to tell your story competently so as to not break their immersion from the events of the story.

As ever, write because you want to, and not for the audience, but getting (you)'s is a different beast. The most popular fics were almost never the best written. Of course, writing only for yourself is practically masturbatory, so a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Glad you liked it. And thanks for the critique. It is a weakness I am well aware of and finding ways to stay in that moment longer is exactly what usually happens when I have more time to edit. On the other hand, I think my style isn’t so much aimed at being smut primarily, but rather narratives containing sex and not shying away from being explicit, while also trying to not be overindulgent. And it’s always hard to find where that line lies.

Also, to be perfectly honest, I'd take the "(You) getting stolen from your chuba gf by another chuba" scenario before the "Chuba gets stolen by (You)" scenario any day, so despite the presence of NTR in the story, it's easier for me to digest.
I still feel bad for Subaru, but seeing as how Fubuki is my oshi, this is still a win in some way or another.

I agree with >>15225219; sexuality as a characteristic tends to overtake all others and so a fic that is slightly sexual and mostly disturbing will probably just be a bad smut fic. I think the key to making something like this work is to write it with the intention of making it both sexual and disturbing - the idea being that the reader has a "guilty wank" over it will actually reinforce the horrific nature of the acts they're getting aroused over, as they visualize it in their minds whilst whacking off.

As you wait for the microwave to do it’s thing, you clean up yourself in preparation for work. It's weird. Your grammar's decent enough that the occasional mistake could be ignored elsewhere, but when it comes to dialogue, you fall flat.

You've got the description down well. Subtle things like how you've described what her mouth is like when you kiss her - "her warm, sweet mouth" - are important in order to draw the reader in and you've got a handle on that well.

As it stands... you need to work on your punctuation. If I opened this, casually interested in the idea you've presented, I would probably immediately close it upon seeing that dialogue.

I feel I was overly negative, so I'd like to point out I'm generally a praiser-by-exception. I focused entirely on your dialogue, but that's because everything else is more-or-less completely fine, with some things being handled notably better than average; your use of descriptive adjectives being one of them.

Dialogue is a red flag for me, but the disparity in quality between dialogue and narrative is big enough that I think if you managed to write the story in such a way that you incorporated no speaking, it'd be quite good.

The writing is solid and the theme is actually played with pretty well in that it has that sense of pain and betrayal that I feel is a must for something to be called NTR but... the dialogue and the smut just took me out of it. first time writing, wrote it after the laplus rhythm heaven collab with takane lui.

She dragged her teeth along a cottony tongue. After speaking along with Rhythm Heaven for 50 uninterrupted minutes, her saliva was stringy and floccal. The effort of the rapid-fire onomatopoeicbursts had left her cheeks totally spent. Her lips ached; Laplus rubbed a finger back and forth on the commissure, erasing away the spittle that had frothed and built up there, and then rubbed her fingers together until the sticky residue had been absorbed into their pads.

Laplus looked back at Lui but she was already thumbing her phone with a severe, focused look. The throng of fans commenting on social media had left a veritable tidal wave of messages that had to be carefully sifted throughand replied to. Laplus herself, despite her total addiction to social media, didn't possess the strength to dredge through fan comments the very moment this performance ended. She trotted over to Lui's futon and flopped down on her stomach, kicking two socked feet into the air.

Five minutes passed. Laplus shifted to lay on her side, taking out her own cell phone and egosearching. As usual, Plusmates were showering her with the distant affection fans are apt to dispense upon the object of their admiration. Fifteen minutes passed. Lui, still as a stone while responding to her fan messages, suddenly jolted upright and stepped out of the room to take a personal call. I wonder if it's her family calling, Laplus mused, as she put her phone down and thought about her mother.

Thirty minutes passed. Laplus, bored of responding on Twitter, stood up and looked around Lui's room. It was homey, but empty. Where photos of family and friends might have been, instead were potted succulents and acrylic stands. A calendar with Lui's favorite seiyuu was pinned to the wall. March 2019; it had not been changed for nearly two years. A journal was on the desk next to the PC. Laplus allowed burning curiosity to commandeer her body and cracked the journal open to a random page only to glimpse a sentence with her name in it.

Footfalls echoed in the hallway and Laplus, panicking, climbed back onto the futon and lay facing the wall, pretending to have fallen asleep. Lui opened the door with the staggering, defeated gesture that she had become accustomed to over several years. When she saw Laplus on her futon, her breath rushed out in an involuntary expression of relief. Lui turned out the lights as the wrinkles that had begun to advance across her brow softened.

She must be a lonely woman, Laplus thought as Lui buried her face into the small of Laplus' back. Laplus could feel Lui's cheekbones probing the valley between her shoulder blades, their skin separated only by a cotton t-shirt mildly damp with sweat. Lui's clean and cozy room, so different from the fetid air and burning fluorescent lights of Laplus's own apartment, cast a stifling drowsiness on Laplus' countenance and her pretend sleep fell headlong into a genuine one, untroubled by the usual hissing of cockroaches and rustle of ants clawing their way through the detritus among the tatami floor.

Reine steps out of behind the pillar and rushes towards the next one, firing her shells at the pile of barrels Risu was hiding behind. At this distance, her shots were unlikely to ever hit the squirrel, but they did knock the barrels back which was enough to expose her. Risu yelled out as she began to unload her clip onto the peacock who reloaded like her life depended on it. And it did. A shot hits her right arm, making her stumble to the ground; but not before she herself shot at Risu. Some of the pellets perforated the armor of her leg, one hit the side of her abdomen. Risu shouted in pain, but did not go down.

She kept shooting. Reine rolled behind a pillar for cover, and only the sound of groaning and heavy breathing filled the empty underground garage. *pop* went the sawed off as she unloaded the spent slugs and prepared to load new ones. Risu grabbed the last clip in her leg pouch and slapped the magazine in.

"It does not have to end this way, Reine!" She shouted, groaning in pain. The pellet in her side was causing her a great deal of pain, not to mention the blood. On the other side, Reine grasped her arm with her bloody hand, desperately trying to apply pressure to the wound. She knew something like this wouldn't be immediately fatal, but she could definitely bleed out if this went on for long enough. She was running out of time, she needed to get to the landing zone and Risu had to be 6 feet under by the time the helicopter got here. Ollie's life depended on it. Without the helicopter to get her to a hospital, she would not live.

"The choices we made led us to the paths we see today, Tupaisen. You made your choice! I made mine! And that's all there is to it!" Risu thought back as to the moment it all went wrong. She could not pinpoint one exact moment, but a series of bad choices she truly wished she could change. But it was too late now. The deeds were done. There was only two ways this was going to end, and one of those was clearly not an option.

"So be it."

Reine rolled out from behind her cover, standing on her knees as she stabilized her shottie. Risu shot once, hitting her in the calf, then again, hitting her on her already wounded shoulder. Depending on your personality it could be a little grating.
