but for me personally, i watch them to be entertained without the excessive westernized flavor which nijiEN has too much of sometimes. Coco had it balanced and in good spirits though it ventured into yab territory while niji has it too much to the point of barely tolerable.

Also, idgaf if they have boyfriends IRL - in fact i'd think the whole yubigate incident was two birds one stone for her, though i personally prefer she don't do risque stuff like that what with putting her reputation with cover in danger.

Bitter medicine: For many normalfags a large part of watching a hololive chuuba is watching hololive. As a whole. Think of how people cannot discuss any Marvel-related show or property without bringing up the fucking MCU.
Their "oshi", if they even have one, would lose a large part of her base if she streamed in a vacuum (with very rare exceptions like Korone). There's a reason clips with multiple holos, holos talking about each other, or holo compilations of the same video game far outnumber isolated single holo ones. It's why with the least scrap of relevance to what's on the stream people can't wait to bring up other holos. Their main chuuba is their fixed reference point from which to orient themselves to the rest of hololive. If something happens in some other stream, eventually it percolates over to their chuuba, and vice versa, by chat or otherwise. There is a sense that something "matters" only because they exist in a large group that actively talks about and interacts with each other.

Why would they watch a small indie just because the indie is amazing at a game? It's like grinding for full completion in a single-player game or playing solo minecraft - cute, but unless you're a very specific type of person, what's the point? If the indie disappeared tomorrow - made more likely because of their small size - no trace of her or her fan's contributions would be left.
You might think this is a shitty attitude, but that's the way it is for the majority of viewers. With a random indie you always know at the back of your mind that they could just drop off the face of the internet tomorrow and you'll be adrift without a rudder.With hololive they have something to cling to, there's always someone to leapfrog to to maintain continuity. The "world" is still there.
So maybe it might hurt for 2views to hear it, but it doesn't actually matter how good an indie is, how good their rigging and model is, what matters is that they aren't hololive. Without that they don't even meet the minimum bar because they lack the sense of permanency and interconnectedness.

The cruel irony of exhibiting the sort of impermanence that many indies give off is that the better they are, the faster some people tune out because they don't want to get attached.
