If it truly pans out that way its going to be such a sad yet unavoidable tale. They literally struck a goldmine but neither the corporation nor the talents were prepared to fully capitalize from it. They made a solid effort at it but they have been perpetually a few steps behind the pace necessary. That all said, they are still wildly successful and the gold standard for vtubing but in retrospect they failed to seize the opportunity and revolutionize entertainment with vtubing taking a permanent and sizeable market.

I think the vtuber fad will fizzle out in the West, but it will likely keep going strong in Japan for a long time.
Doesn't necessarily mean Hololive and Nijisanji, there might be a new "generation" that improves on the model, but I think those two conpanies will still be around and prosperous unless there is complete mismanagement.
That said, i hope alot of the current girls don't actually graduate, but just become "legacy" vtubers, and basically show up to voice their characters in rare collabs, merch, anime and games. Keeps the character relevant without becoming stale from constant streaming over the years
