Here's what we know:

It can damage the body pretty bad depending on a lot of factors. If you're stressed enough to be unable to sleep a lot of times then you're on your way to get fucked. People notice the problems once shit has hit the fan and they're fucked with months or years to recover. We don't know if this is what she has though.
