Which vtubers are most influential in terms of bringing this entire genre to new highs or bringing vtubers into the hearts and minds of the masses?

Personally, I feel that the following vtubers deserve recognition for bringing this entertainment to where it is today:

Kaguya Luna
Tsukino Mito
Tokino Sora
Projekt Melody
Inugami Korone

1. Kizuna - for starting the process;
2. Mito - for changing entire format and making it accessible;
I don't highlight any particular vtuber for bringing in western audience, because the biggest change in this direction was not from particular vtubers, but from chink clippers.

Sora was one of the main pioneers for the switch from short prerecorded or scripted stuff to long livestreams with considerable chat interaction and ease of access being the primary channel content.
She debuted in Sept 2017, Mito didnt debut till Feb 2018.

Mito pushed and improved the format that would make vtubing what it is today.
Korone perfected the formula, shown how far vtubing could go and that didnt have to stay as a niche.

These are the only 3 I would consider important and as equally relevant to the industry.

Mito is only huge because Nijisanji had no proper rival back then. She didn't innovate shit for the scene. She just followed Ai's footsteps to the mainstream.
I'd say Kuzuha made a more profound impact for introducing vtubers to other fanbases of the biggest livestreamers, artists, celebs, etc.
