I can understand subscribing to a membership since it gives you access to more of their content but superchatting is pretty much pointless.

Memberships are cheap and you actually get something out of it so it's definitely the best way to support yoir oshi.
The only instances where superchatting just feels right to me is during 3D streams that I considered to be too good to be free like Korone's recent birthday live and Suisei's lives in general. I only send red supas too. Other than that, hell nah.

Not particularly rich but the lions share of that 10k was spread out over about a year and a half. If I add merch and all other stuff plus memberships I'd get to...what, like 12k? At best? So consider that that's like $750 a month. And while I'm not rich and it's not "nothing", I could afford to give that several times over and not be in serious financial trouble.

Only once per month or two for smaller vtubers and mostly small sums just to encourage them as smaller vtubers that i watch have amazing attitude and energy. Never bigger vtubers as they milk morons enough to keep the job.

I also don't buy membership even from my oshi as I don't really need those special videos for members. Most of members get like some lazy asmr or talking streams.
