Gamers also wasn't recruited like a normal gen. In the beginning there was only friend, then Mio got in touch with her and was allowed to join, then they found okakoro at some arcade.

Yeah, as much as only two of them are genuinely good at games, all four of them have good game choices and reactions and genuinely love playing games. Ayame and Suisei are decent gamers but theyre not streaming autists, Suisei is not even into games much, while Aqua loves playing alone. Pekora is a fiftEE/fiftEE, loves streaming and gaming, but I dont think she has ever start any gaming trend unlike HoloGamers, and like Aqua she usually plays solo.

It's mostly an artifact title from gens 1 and 2 still being treated as genuine v-idols. When Gamers was made, they were intended to be the only gaming-focused group (which is why they aren't a standard gen) but then, for one reason or another, all other holos started doing primarily gaming streams, Miko said nigger onstream, Doog took off, and so on and so forth. In the end Gamers got absorbed with the rest of the holoteam but the title stuck after.

Secondly, maybe I am just interested in other games than you but if being good is the mark of a "gamer", NA is seriously lacking behind in just about any competitive game outside of Brawl. Shooters and MOBA are yuro (though you may argue China had its foot in the door), RTS are Asian turf (as well as Finnish :DDDD ), speedrunning is pretty split (and GDQ is misrepresentative of just about any speedrunning or TAS community).

Not really, Euros are the best in the most dominate shooter (CS:GO) while NA currently seems to be better at Valorant, it mostly is a side product of the fact that the EU CS scene didn't hop to it like the NA scene did.
NA does tend to dominate though in less popular shooters like Team Fortress, Quakelikes(And it's not like EU players aren't on an even playing field for these two) and more casual shooters like COD and Fortnite, but that could be due to a lack of international interest in those games rather than NA players just being better.

SC II is korean dominated. Outside of non-korea, Serral wipes the floor with everyone and Reynor had been a fairly successful newcomer. Then there is the only competitively successful solo trans player (and leaf) which had an amazing run a few years ago, but it's by no means consistently on Serral's or Korean level.
AoE II has barely any koreans playing.
WC III has a strong chinese and european presence. Except for Scarlett and Neeb, I know of barely any good US players in the popular RTS scene.

Team Secret is European, Victus Pro is Russian. Both get good placements in DotA 2. None of the top 10 best players are Chinese, US or Korean. League I stopped following after Season 2 so I don't really know. There are many Chinese teams and some good koreans. The most successful teams are T1 (CN), G2 (KR), fnactic (EU), and then there is TSM (US) which has not a single US player in the active roster. The best players are a mix of Chinese and Korean. I don't see much of an US present here, so that's bullshit, anon.

Lastly, many US teams are mixed with Euros or Asians, while the reverse isn't less common. You can do your research on this to prove me wrong if you want to. Feel free to feed me counterexamples, but as I said, we could wank about this until the OT ban.

Many of the girls aren't really gamers, even if they play a lot of games. A lot of them use videogames as a way to interact with each other, as zatsudans, or just because it's the "thing" that Holos do.
There's a difference between that and someone who can get addicted to multiple games for multiple hours at a time, and really get involved with the lore or the gameplay.
Not that being less of a gamer is a bad thing, but it is always easy to tell who is a gamer and who is just playing videogames. Some of the girls really just love games, others enjoy them like they'd enjoy anything else they try out for fun.
