Out of her Mario Odyssey playthrough and Mario Galaxy playthrough, which did people like better? I liked her Galaxy streams way more, but that's because that game hits me right in the nostalgia. Looking for less biased opinions.

Sorry in advance for the essay, this is actually something I've thought about a bit but I've never expressed it. TL;DR I felt that she was more engaged with Galaxy and had more fun with it, and it also helped that she had no capture delay.

The capture delay being a thing gave us the legendary undocking moment in Odyssey, but overall it's a better experience to play the whole game normally. I already loved her Odyssey playthrough so I was excited to learn that she fixed the biggest issue with it.

There were a couple of Odyssey streams somewhere in the middle where I felt like she wasn't in a great mood -- not in the sense that she'd tilt at things, that's normal, but her mood in general. I specifically remember that she didn't play the game for like ~1 month and that when she returned to it again I was surprised to see her be more cheery/cute in comparison, which was more in-line with how the entirety of the Galaxy playthrough went. Galaxy felt a lot more consistent as a result.

On that note, I felt like she was a lot more engaged with Galaxy as a game, not just in terms of its aesthetics/music but its challenges as well. I don't care if Ame's bad at the games she plays (and sucking at platformers goes without saying for her) but with Galaxy, her excitement to try out the prankster comets and other challenging missions that you don't have to go out of your way for was endearing; watching her learn and succeed at them all (minus purple coin comets, which is fair enough) was satisfying and made me proud. Considering her skill level, I guess it's kinda like watching your little sister improve at one of your games. She managed a few cool sequence breaks just for fun and figured out most of the secrets on her own too which gave her bragging rights, I find it pretty cute when she gets excited or smug over stuff like that. Odyssey having less of this investment isn't bad per se, but it did make it a little less interesting to follow.

Lastly, this has more to do with a bias for the game, but the storytelling parts in Galaxy were 11/10. Shame none of the other mainline Marios have anything extra like that.

Yeah, agree with most of this, especially the Odyssey parts. Whenever she was challenged in Galaxy, she'd make incremental progress and usually she'd overcome with persistence which made for some great moments, e.g., Bouldergeist. Whenever she was challenged in Odyssey, she'd bang her head against the wall, make no progress for half and hour or give up and get super frustrated to the point that it became a downer, e.g., Dashing Over Cold Water. The biggest difference is that the capture delay made some challenges way harder than they needed to be (even if Galaxy probably has the lower skill ceiling). But there was hardly a moment during the Galaxy playthrough were it didn't feel like Ame was having fun, and I'm not sure I can say the same about some segments in her Odyssey playthrough. The fact that she kept saying she wanted to see speedruns of some of the Galaxy levels after she completed them also shows how engaged she was by it.

She's definitely been doing her reps, but the main improvement was that she wasn't limiting her volume as much. For good singing, you really have to project your voice to hit notes correctly. You can hear whenever she was volume limiting was when she started sounding slightly off key. She really did limit herself due to her neighbors at her old place.
And before some chucklefuck say it's the mic, yes her shotgun mic does affect the reverb and tonality a little, but it's not enough to make her sound obviously off key or eat a note. This is karaoke, so it's not like she's trying to make the perfect recording anyways. Having a well projected singing voice inside a decent enough room is the best way to maximize vocal quality before we get worried about everything else. A good singing voice should always be noticeably louder than the person's talking voice.

I don't care about views but I do understand what you're saying, so for the sake of it lets just put a few things into context:

- Ina has a very loyal following because she streams at pretty much the same time every single day and rarely delays.
- Her timeslot alone is the only one that consistently favors EU primetime, so she gets a lot of loyal EU viewers.
- Ame's streams have been noticeably affected by her poor connection as of late, and so people who show up and get the option to choose between say Ina or Ame will go for Ina because her stream is crisp and doesn't drop. Even during the Collab yesterday Ina had by far the best audio balance levels out of all 5 of them.
- Ina has also been doing a lot longer streams than Ame lately. It used to be the other way around, and Ina would hit the normal 2 hours and then end the stream, now Ame is doing this (likely because she's been busy with moving and internet issues). So yeah, Ina has been doing 3-4 hour long Splatoon and Hollow Knight streams.

There's other things I've probably missed. But Ina's decent viewership, despite having the lowest sub count, can be explained with things like this. Once Ame has settled into her new place and gets going again we'll see what her viewership looks like.

The thing is lore-wise, her time travel allows Ame to "brute force" any case by redo-ing it thousands of times until she gets it right. This actually lines up pretty well with her actual personality and style of gameplay regardless of the genre.
