What's your primary motivation for streaming, /asp/? Is that a question you've asked yourself recently? I like to think about that a lot because I think it helps keep me focused on what's important to me.

I used to watch VividlyASMR on youtube, and then found her on Twitch, migrated over to watch her streams there.

She had so much FUN! She was playing old retro games, and it felt like hanging out with a friend. She'd recognize us in chat, there were little injokes, organizing future streams... I thought it looked like something I'd like to be part of.

I'm now realizing that part of that was due to her charisma, but part of it was the size of her chat. I've never found a smaller channel that's quite as much fun, because it's all so much slower. So I'm a way off

I think the trend is that seeing news of auditions gets a lot of anons thinking about the prospect of being a chuuba in the first place; I've heard it said a lot that people say that they'll start up and use what they learn for the upcoming auditions
I definitely have seen there be more than a few anons talk about having like, no recent streaming experience sending in interview after interview and not even entertain the thought of doing their reps though

it's definitely personal preferences.
i watch different male chuubas for different reasons. some are educational, some are just aesthetically/vocally attractive, mostly i watch for the energy.
i love high energy streamers that can keep my attention. you can just tell they'd be stupid fun to hang out with.
(just some examples but these are the two that really can keep my eyes glued to the twitch tab for the longest: woozle for the sheer chaos and zero fuck vibes, shanaha bc he's a really good commentator, the way he talks is so smooth as if he's reading from a script. you can also tell when someone is passionate about what theyre doing, so just play games that you actually like and not just because its trendy. for example theres a big difference with when i watch tooru vs other chuubas when playing pokemon. its an actual interest of his and you can tell)

for lower energy streamers, i really like those that have something to offer. if theyre not entertaining, they should have something special. interesting stories? trivia?

imagine if you sat with a stranger and they just started larping, i wouldnt really be into that.

so (unironically) i do really like bloom. i get that he's older than most chuubas (probably) so he just gives that vibe of like a cool dad with interesting life stories.
low energy but still enjoyable streams, also he sounds nice, and he sings well, and i also like how organised he is, and he's kinda wholesome so the gap moe when he has drunk streams is just too adorable.

if you can't pull in with sheer personality, make sure you have something else to offer.
talk about something that makes your eyes twinkle, i think thats the most captivating way to keep an audience.

It should be obvious but I've seen it a surprising amount of people be like, "yeah I used to make videos that got big in 2010 that's good enough of a portfolio right"
I fell like if you can't put aside time to stream now as an indie then trying to go corpo makes no sense

>> No.14298202

>>14297373
from personal experience, (i auditioned for some companies before), if you can have some charm points/talents, (good conversationalist, can sing, or if you just fit the vibe of what theyre looking for),
it's enough to make it to the final interviews. As in, they're literally just choosing between a handful of people.

i had minimal streaming experience, but i had everything else. played/sang in a band, studied animation for 5 years and was well versed in the tech and chuuba knowledge.

Thing is, streaming experience is probably the 'safe' thing that most companies would really require. for example if theyre picking between two talented chuubas, they'd pick the one with more experience.

>>14297846
I still think they should go for it. You may not be accepted, but it helps you compile your skills in one video resume, lets you take a step back and re-assess what you're lacking or what else you need to have to be the full package.
I auditioned mostly to find out what else I could do, it really just puts you in the more serious mindset so you can reprioritize. for me, when i auditioned i realised school was more important to me, because they asked would i be willing to sacrifice my extra time to ensure i can stream a minimum of 3 times a week?

just helps you think. kinda like a practice examination paper, or something. sorry for babbling.

same anon but i think what i was trying to say was,

don't audition with the intention to go corpo. audition to find out what corpos are looking for, and see what else you need. (literal first hand experience) the best metaphor i can think of is that guy in that game papers please with the fake passport who just kept trying and trying with the wackiest documents until he got in.

if u get in congrats!! if u dont, its not the end of the world, just keep trying. and remember ur definitely allowed to fall, just make sure you get up and try again smarter.

i'm not really sure what you're really trying to ask here. if you're starting streaming from zero with no experience, it really doesn't matter. any streams you do will get you more experience. since you can expect to stream to zero viewers for the first handful of streams, it doesn't really matter all that much. i don't know what you mean when you ask if streaming at that late time zone would "fuck you"

Everything I can do on stream or preparing for streaming involves becoming more talented, likable, etc. and simultaneously grows me a following, which is totally in line with my goals of world domination
In seriousness it's because I've liked the idea of living life like a story or work of art for a while and streaming like 10-20% of said life to showcase work you put in during like another 10-20% of it is a pretty good way to do that. Very fulfilling lifestyle for me.
