Might do that sometime. Was debating if I wanted to dabble in L2D for a bit and just go all out as well. But kinda holding in a wait and see position on a lot of things.
also I just find reactive PNGs to be kind of distracting personally. they're not constantly animated, so the swap between quiet and talking always just draws your eyes to the corner, but its not doing anything of real value like an animation would. but maybe thats just my tism acting up

So about the dad energy thing from last thread, I didn't read through it all but I think people are really misinterpreting it as literal dad.
Its more about having a comfortable solid presence people can rely on an feel comfortable around. So more just giving off that feeling if someone needs help or advice you'd be able to provide it or at least lead them correctly.

In media it'd be like the older guy someone would follow at the start of a movie. Like the old guy who knows his stuff who helps out the noobies and eventually dies leaving the rest up to the hot blooded protagonist.
Or in animeverse like the teachers for the protagonist, they're there to support and guide them with experience but they're not super high tempo or there to literally be a dad.

i also second this, i don't know why it's so difficult for people to give good recommendations when it comes to men. i guess it's because most viewers are men watching girls, but even when you describe it in details it tends to come up with a lot of 'duds' (as in recommendations that don't fit in with what you asked for)

Hello! I never debuted, actually. I just up and started streaming. I do have my first stream saved but I was so scared and it is embarrassing. I mostly tell stories and drip feed lore during my normal streams, which is something I need to fix and consolidate from my VODs when I can.

From here on out, I am going to be highlighting all my VODs so I no longer lose them. But yes, I may debut in February! That would be my one year anniversary... But I need to make sure I have all my P's and Q's in order!

what do people here have against "backlogging"? i prefer watching chuubas/streamers in general playing a game for the first time and essentially live reacting to it and watching as they slowly learn and get better. i think its much more interesting content than someone who has played a game before and already knows what happens and what to do.
if anything its sort of a valley where at the far end it does become interesting again when theyve played a game so much that they actually know a shit ton about it and have plenty to talk about with regards to the game. but in the middle its just kinda boring where they get the benefit of neither.
that and i much prefer the variety over heres minecraft video 264. either way it hardly matters compared to whether i just find the chuuba entertaining to watch but if it came down to two chuubas i liked roughly equally and one of them was playing a game theyve played before and the other was playing a new and interesting game id go with the latter
am i just the weird one here

Hello!
I just finished playing Disco Elysium and it's such an amazing game! I loved every second of it!

But would it be fun to watch it be streamed? It took me over 40 hours to finish and I feel like there's just a whole lot of listening to stuff.

On the other hand, it would be fun to discuss the dialogue afterwards, but that would easily double the length of the game... at least.

Like you said, it's a big hefty dialogue game, and as a result it might not be x2 but closer to x3-4 in length if you open discussion floor. It'll take some effort to keep any bantering yab free while you're at it, but if you want one hell of a longrunner segue into philosophizing, it'd work.

Honestly, I don't think so? You'd have to have a chat really into the dialogue and writing to do it, but if you think your chat is up for it then I'd go for it. It'd just be a hellaciously long stream. I'm glad you liked it though, it is the most literary game I've played. Really reminded me of China Melvielle's writing.

Have you ever heard of The Forgotten City? It's a game about an ancient Roman city where if one citizen commits a crime, the entire city dies. It's got a great time loop mechanic and so many cool ways to proceed, I really liked it. It may be something you're into. I was gonna DM you about it but I got too nervous.

I don't think my typical chat would be super into it I'm afraid... but I've been spreading the gospel of the game though, esp. on my discord. I want other people to play it! The final moment with the two communists was probably the only moment that really touched me meaningfully. Earlier today the category had about a hundred viewers, and if Nyanners played it tomorrow, it'd have thousands of viewers. If Bat played it, it would have a few hundred. Digimon cyber sleuth is way more story focused than Pokemon and as anon said, it can take 50+ hours to complete even normally. Digivolving has way more to it than pokemon evolving too (you need certain stat thresholds etc) which just adds time to the game.

Numbers don't make up a majority of my thought process but I would like to see a modicum of growth so it doesn't feel as though I'm doing this just for me. There are two things that could potentially filter me as a viewer. One is your game choice. I'll stop by to say hi but will lurk eventually if there's nothing in the game that interests me (retro games filter me since they usually have bare bones stories.) Two is if you get too technical with the game. This is something exclusive to me since I'm not a big fan of X strategy game but there are a lot of people like me. You'd have to be in touch with people who are fans of that game imo if you wanna get heavy into technical stuff (maybe play around with the terms you use?) Baka Twitch broke just when I was about to raid...I am not mad whatsoever...thank you all for attending the beatdownening of this fatty catty! We played some matches in Brawlhalla and are starting to get the hang of things! We even played with some viewers! It was great, I'm really loving the first impression of the game and the community.
