I feel like they had the same problem that KanaTowa had where they were far too clean and simply sung it, instead of capturing the growls, anger, and parts of the song that make it interesting. Feels like a mismatch, which honestly surprises me from Milky since she did a good job of capturing how the song is supposed to sound on her Hated by Life cover despite even going as far as doing English lyrics, even if she could have gone harder on the big break down at the end.

It's pleasant to listen to, but it's very much campfire whisper singing on a simple song. You can hear her stumble on a few points, as well as slurring her words in a way that isn't a country twang. Could be either her character voice holding her back or the volume limitations she's mentioned.

with the current audience size, it would look real bad. considering how many other indies she's friends with, i could imagine how some of them might react to a move like that. best she can do these days is bring her friends in for mini live or lvs. might also work if INNK itself is the one recruiting for another vsinger. but it feels like they're going to shutter INNK and bring her into holopro after the planned ending for the diva project.

Oh, I agree that just throwing them on as Holos wouldn't work well now, and I have no clue if either of them are good enough streamers to fit into the mold. However, Cover hasn't shown any signs of shuttering INNK to me, even if it's not treated as a distant branch as it used to be. They have their own distinct production staff, though they've clearly been giving tips to the regular staff given how AZKi's concerts have improved and then those improvements have been passed onto the rest of the girl's 3Ds.

Also, she spoke for a bit in her natural voice (or something that's a lot closer to it than what she usually uses). It confirmed what several people already expected, which is that the reason she keeps having problems with her throat is because the burikko chara voice that she usually uses is really hard on it.

I listened to the Senbonzakura and Roki since AZKi linked the stream on her Twitter. While she clearly still has some nerves, she's not terrible. Can't get up there for the high notes on Senbon, but she's an inoffensive generic singer which is still pretty good for the average Holo. I'd like to hear her again in a month or two when she's not so clearly out of her mind from nerves, and see if she really just doesn't have the range or not.

Suisei is gonna take first place, no real question beyond which song it will be though the most likely one is Ghost. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mori on the list either, and AZKi, Watame, Towa, or Marine might take a slot as well. Outside Holo, I think Ceil and Boogey are pretty strong contenders for best MV, though Marine might take that with Unison. Hachi is pretty likely to get onto the top 10 if people aren't too split between Rainy Proof and August Fireflies from her. Kaf's probably going to take a slot with Return to the Ocean or whatever the sequel to Devour the Past's name is. I'd like to see MaiR, Edo, and MiMi in the top 10 as well, but they're probably not popular enough.

Rikka, Astel on a good day, that mime looking Niji who's name escapes me, and tonarimachi sounds good on 52HZ and Crossing though I admit I haven't looked if he's good live as well. ぼっちぼろまる considers himself a vsinger even if he does the mask thing more then an avatar these days. It is not really akin to the last year, they had 4 Holo, 3 Niji, 1 BOOGEY VOXX, 1 Kaf and 1 Rim in top10, 4 Holo in top5 actually. And yeah, I have checked and a couple of Niji have indeed mentioned it on Twitter, not the most popular vtubers but I guess they share some common audience and through retweets it could potentially reach a lot of people. The saddest thing is that this year there is hardly any indies/other companies, whereas the last year half the entries were vsingers. Most people probably weren't also putting 5 Suisei songs, so it probably hurt her even further. Same with Mori most likely, but that one is harder to prove since I only saw Red in the top 30. That's a very reductionist point of view, since a large portion of them are likely fans because of the music instead of the other way around. There's a reason someone like Peko, who has big numbers for her streams has barely more monthly listeners on Spotifty then someone like Aki Rose even staying within the Holo ecosystem. Going from IRyS to Moona, I have to say how impressed I was with the latter's Blue Clapper. When she's practiced and serious, Moona can certainly sing though I wonder how many takes it took her. I wish she would have sang more then 3 songs, though. Conversely, finally being able to hear IRyS perform her songs live really shows how bad she was fucked by the composers since they have a bunch of parts that really highlight her biggest flaw of her headvoice sounding very rough compared to the rest of her singing, especially if she's trying to be powerful with it.

The noisiness of instruments, Watame's inexperience in singing, and the shotgun release makes almost half of it mediocre. The only good one that barely has the noisiness and Watame's voice in good use is Sweet Night Sweet Time. Two other are good, some are eh, but the rest is bad. Most of her rock stuff is really noisy. Incredibly unfortunately so. But I hope she learned a lot from that and start polishing some mixed voice rock singing techniques or something. Maybe start learning herself through parousing, or talking to seasoned singers in holo or the industry, instead of relying on miss fairy voice trainer

I personally like her music. I can definitely understand the "noisiness" you are talking about but I never found it too distracting. It's also true her songs aren't Memorable but I think she has the potential to make it to the top. It really all comes down to 1 amazing song to get the momentum rolling IMO.
