How do we save Council? Gen 6 is already mogging them in every conceivable way.

Had twice the number of viewers for their debuts than Council, Laplus already has more views on her debut VOD than Kronii. Growing faster, obviously far more popular and already showing more ambition than any of the Council have.

Face it the Council are slackers who bring nothing to Hololive.

EN chuubaing on the decline as people return to normie streamers or their lives
JP chuubaing on a steady rise as it becomes more accepted as a form of entertainment and another extended branch of Otaku culture

This isn't surprising as the JP girls have the most consistent live viewers in the world

>> No.13776423

>>13776364
I think this is right. EN audience made up of too many normies not committed to the otaku lifestyle. Mori struggling to break 5k CCV means the writing is on the wall for EN.

>> No.13776446

I don’t think English vtubers will ever be able to overcome the “ugh it’s weeeeeeiiiirrrrrdddd” reaction that westerners have to the whole thing. Hololive really fucked up by getting kicked out of China.

EN vtubers are a declining market that's already been saturated by HoloMYTH mogging every english speaking vtuber on the planet on their debut. Holocouncil just really cant compare to them and there's no saving them since everyone would rather watch HoloJP than HoloEN nowadays.

>> No.13776553

CCV is all that matters. Having a ton of dead subs is meaningless. Gura can't compete with Pekora despite having twice the number of subs. Having a ton of flaky normies as your primary fanbase is the exact problem of EN. People will tune in to watch Pekora no matter what game she's playing or what she's doing, even Gura's hardcore fans skip out on DMC streams

Clearly they are not. Sana is pulling Roboco level numbers. In fact let me blow your mind here, of all the gens in Hololive Council has the overall lowest viewership on their streams over the past 2 months. That's right, they've had less people watching their streams than Gen 0, Gen 1 and Gen 2 as a whole.

>> No.13776855

>>13776169
Dunno if it's related or not but I find it weird how there's so little fanarts of them. When myth and council were announced, everyone and their mother drew them, getting an average of 30k+ likes per piece. I remembered there being a lot of big name jap artists riding in on the Gura train last year. Sure, they got high debut numbers but good fanarts of them are very scarce.

>> No.13776866

Myth had novelty going for them whereas Council didn't. They haven't managed to differentiate themselves properly; they don't have a "catch" and are largely more of the same old Minecraft nonsense. It doesn't help that they're all either milquetoast personalities or menheras that sabotage themselves.

This anon >>13776446 also makes a good point. In Japan, the holos are throwing live shows, appearing on TV, appearing on ads in the middle of Shibuya crossing, getting attention from famous artists and music producers; they are mainstream there. Meanwhile in the West... they go to anime cons and Gura gets sponsored by Taco Bell.

>> No.13777379

>>13777265
Council seems weirdly unenthusiastic about streaming too. Baelz is the only one I'd say who actually seems to want to do it, the rest don't strike me like they wake up excited to do a stream which is what you need to succeed as an entertainer. Kronii had to be shamed into streaming more often by her fans because she was putting off too many for extra "me time"

>> No.13777456

Early on they kept mentioning "working on projects" and of course Kronii/Mumei had songs they talked about at debut that we've heard almost nothing about since.

Let's just agree that Omega is the worst thing to happen to EN (Kiara crapping on it multiple times pubically now lmao) and hope they purge the larper for better management

That's bullshit. I've been following the indie and small corpo scene and there are plenty of legitimately enthusiastic streamers who actually love what they do, and so many good singers that it's not even a rare trait.
Then again I can't help but wonder if management is also sucking the life out of the talents; Mumei had some actually unique stream ideas before they got canned. My rrat is the Council girls probably did show enthusiasm in the audition phase and actually did plan on being entertaining, and then when they started they got hit by a massive reality check as Cover stuffed them into a mold.

Definitely, plus Vtubing is still very much on the smaller niche side of things in the west compared to in the east.

However, I imagine that'll change as the market for it slowly grows and grows, as until Hololive EN came about, Vtubing was primarily the domain of indies in the west, irrc.

>> No.13778583

Overall Council are pretty boring streamers, compound by the fact that most of them are either on breaks or can't be bothered to stream properly. JP's chuuba also maintain kayfabe and can banter better. For some reason the Vsinger is the best streamer out of the new gen, which either speaks to Irys's ability or Council's lack of.

I'd say Fauna is also rather enthusiastic, she streams pretty consistently and has fun streaming. People here tend to overlook that, likely because many don't watch her considering her boring/bland. She's fine honestly, her voice might filter someone but Fauna's worth checking out. The rest are... yeah. Kronii and Mumei are fucking snoozefests, literally every Holo, Niji or indie I watch mogs them in entertainment level. Suprisingly, I quite like Sana's design but everything about her filters me. Bae's voice filters me hard, I'm not watching a single stream from her until she starts speaking in deep voice she uses for singing.

This is idiotic. YouTube started filtering “spam viewers” in early December last year.
It affects all channels technically but has hit EN and probably ID orders of magnitude more than JP.
Most likely reason is ad blocker usage which Japan ranks in the bottom 3 countries worldwide in.
Believing that enough people all got bored on the same day in December to lower Myth’s live views by 10-30k depending on the streamer is the true schizo take.

Mumei definitely enjoys streaming and wants to put in the hours, it’s just that she’s also a college student who’s already streaming while sleep deprived/overcaffeinated. There’s really not much more she can do until classes are out of the way, though apparently she has streamed for about as many hours as Bae this month.
With Sana, she clearly also enjoys streaming when she’s not on break. She was up there with Bae and Fauna in stream time before the hiatus, and became an endurance streamer after her return.
>>13777456
Don’t know about Kronii, but Mumei said yesterday in the Q&A stream that her song will probably release in January, and that her living situation hasn’t been conducive to recording music or singing (thin walls in her apartment, Yeti mic, and dog), so that delayed it for a bit.

Can you think of anything that is rare and limited? How about a hand-made paining, a mint-edition comic, a game that's no longer in production, even an NFT? All these things are very rare and very hard to find, and because of that, they are valuable.
