For a large part, most of the time where I see low-view types is when they are doing some work while also streaming, or playing a game and just enjoying the story / gameplay like any other.
If some random person comes across them, they'll just chat along.
I've seen some AVTuber stream to literal 2 views at times when she was making model upgrades for herself on Youtube for her FC2 streams.
It's more a case of "I'm enjoying myself - why not stream it and potentially entertain someone else?" mentality rather than "I'm going to do this to become famous!". If nobody comes, did anything really change besides a program capturing a screen?
How many times have you played games yourself without a single word to another for multiple hours? Same thing really.

from outside, yeah, but when YOU're in the 10view's position, 10 concurrent viewers feels like a lot. i remember sometimes feeling like streaming a game i was playing on youtube years ago just for fun and "advertising" the stream on a certain community, and feeling like an absolute celebrity when i got 2 digit viewers (which was rarely).

now, i assume she's trying to build more of a brand with her name so to speak, so 8-10 is not really something to be happy to settle with, but it's genuinely a step in the right direction.
