I never really let the fanbase of something affect my enjoyment of that something, in good part due to not being really in contact with the communitties, but that changed a bit with vtubers as I have been in close contact with many vtuber fandoms, which has been both good and bad as some have helped me enjoy them more but others have managed to really annoy me and affect my enjoyment of those chuubas NijiEN's for example, have, since a good while, been grinding my gears significantly, Lazu's and Dragoons in particular I have found downright insufferable at times.
I still like the chuubas quite a bit, but good lord are their fans annoying.

Before getting into vtubers I watched pretty much only male streamers/youtubers, and after watching so many female chuubas, I wish I had found male ones before and stayed with them mostly, I have grown tired, bored and annoyed at many of the shit female chuubas tend to pull and the fanbases they knowingly or unknowingly attract and have been finding myself gravitating towards male ones more and more as time goes on, there's still some I enjoy but they aren't that many anymore and I can't really get into any new one.
Heck, one of the reasons I still keep up with NijiEN and put up with their fanbases is because I'm waiting for the males to see if they are any good and how the girls and their fans treat them and how the boys deal with fans, and, needles to say, I have zero hope and faith for any of that.
