Would the homostars benefit from more members?

I’m not even talking about a EN branch, a big reason why Hololive and Nijisanji are popular is their “something for everyone” aspect, with only 9 members (supposed to be 12), sometimes there won’t be a single stream in a day from the whole branch. Would more members boost them as a whole, or just spread out viewers like NijiEN?

Probably, mostly because their current line up is weak as fuck. The only good stars are Roberu, Astel and Aruran, Izuru is cool I guess but he doesn't stream and is just a cheap version of Astel, that means 5/9 of your introductions to the holostars are just really medicore to bad vtubers

An actually sane sounding post about Homostars, finally. Like the other anon said the only good Homos in terms of streaming and connections are Roberu and Astel. Izuru and Rikka can sing but they're gonna be the worse version of Azki in terms of popularity if nothing is done. Aruran is kinda the la creatividad of Homostars but he is not that outspoken so he can't make streams interesting when needed and can't carry collabs. And AFAIK outside of Astel and APEX none of them excels at games that significantly. I remembered Roberu being decent at Mario 39 and Marika though, but I dont think he is on par with the top five gamers in Hololive. While recruiting more talents may boost them as a whole but it won't help the more severely unpopular Homostars. HoloID for example, while Moona, Ollie, Reine and Risu are some of the ID gem and the popularity of HoloID as a whole did get boosted because of them, no one is still gonna watch ones like Anya and Loafy, simply because they're unpopular. Like how you can recruit as much talent you want in HoloJP but Mel and Choco are gonna remain where they are if they dont do something themselves.

I keep seeing a quote from one clip of the Stars saying they don’t want new members. While that might be true, I think they just need to scout more guys with potential to maybe incline a tiny bit.
Even then those guys might either stay indie or apply to other corps altogether, Stars probably just isn’t appealing to them.

Because homos are not growing as much as Cover wants, so they won't get new members, it's been over a year without auditions, which means that they don't even want to replace the fags that quit.

Stars don't have a future, they're only still here, because Cover doesn't want bad rep for firing them.

Beggars deserve the rope but the venue rent sure isn't cheap, and they have to make merchs for the concert and hire people for behind the scene works. Its also a sponsored by Bushiroad concert, so if they dont profit much theres no reason for Bushiroad to sponsor /stars/ concert again

Part of Holostars' appeal is that they're the only branch in Holopro who feel like a complete group, their gens don't matter, they don't call each other by senpai and they're always marketed as one entity. Why do you think most of them don't feel like they need new members? It'd be weird at this point, like adding new members to HoloFantasy. Rikka said it might work if it was like a second completely different group.

The problem is branding, not the amount of members. Hololive fans don't overlap with Holostar fans, new members aren't going to attract the attention of brand loyal fans, just Holostar fans.
