Both Amelia and Fubuki did so well because they treated it like a speedrun. In a speedrunning community though, nobody owns a particular route or technique. You may have found it first, but if it really is the best, somebody else is going to take it and either refine it or do it better.

Amelia's route being taken by Fubuki is a natural consequence of what she did with it. And unfortunately for her, Fubuki is both naturally geared toward speedrunning, and one of the most naturally talented gamers in the company.

The real tragedy is that Amelia and Fubuki's obstacle course performance was the greatest show of skill at the entire festival, but Amelia's amazing performance was simply reduced to a 2nd place because of the rules, and the event as a whole was barely worth any points for some reason.
