thanks to everyone who showed up tonight! i am sorry there was a lot of fumbles, i try to plan these things out in advanced and things keep trying to mess up.

on a similar but slightly different note, how does one act cute but sincere? i hate asking these questions because i don't want to feel like iam gosling baiting, but how do some girls manage to get goslings easily? i don't want to sound ungrateful for what i got tonight. receiving anything at all blows my mind and i can barley comprehend the fact that i got as far as i did tonight. i got a very kind person to make me a wiggly, and the fanart i have received so far makes me feel weird in ways i am not used to. but comparing myself to other girls is hard, because i get scared about being left behind. how does someone make themselves appear maximum cute without it coming off as fake? i am very rough around the edges, and trying to act 100% right and proper worries me for the authenticity. if someone could give advice to help a trashy girl make herself rise up a bit better without being fake, i would appreciate it. for now i will sleep off the vodka from tonight, and thank everyone tonight for their support. i know i am far from the ideal stream/v-tuber, i am not very seiso or the type of girl to make people go crazy over, but the people who did show up tonight have given me the type of validation i never thought i would receive. i just hope this gives me the chance to learn to be the proper kind of lady people will like, and i thank ya for putting up with me so far. thank you /wvt/ and goodnight, i look forward to the hangover tomorrow

I have one, started because I had my own personal server for taking notes, and sharing pictures/links between my devices. A few regulars asked if I could create one, so I added some channels and opened it up.

I kind of like the slower paced ones of small/medium streamers. It's a nice place to chat, share info, and shitpost. The problem is that you get a lot of needy fans - I've left discords for lewdtubers, because the other users basically just started slapfights over who she was calling 'darling'.
When the chuuba gets bigger, the discord picks up speed, and it's not worth keeping up with. There's hundreds of posts each night, and you'll just miss stuff all over the place. It becomes like chat does.

Group/interest discords are good - they help you spread word and notice, even if only minimally. I see a difference in my CCV when I post in some of the 'small streamer' discords I'm in that I've muted.

I enjoy my chuuba's discord. I haven't done something like this in a very long time, but she is opening me up. However main takeaway overall still is how screwed up a path online communication etiquette has undergone over the past 30 years. Small online communities, and dm's used to be the norm.

I'm mostly in the chuuba discords to lurk and see them post. Sometimes just seeing them say good morning or coming home from work is enough to make me smile. Rarely participate in community event type stuff because I hate how joining and leaving voice chat makes a sound.

I think you underestimate yourself. I am not sure if you know the term gap moe (you seem a bit less into that kind of anime culture than otherwise), but you have that in spades. Basically, you are already very cute. People who love you and are happy to turn on your stream are happy because you are you.

I have my own favorites and they are not my favorites because of how they pander or appeal to me. An act will eventually falter. It is how they are as people that invest me in them, and that lasts longer than appealing to whatever the vtuber meta may be. If I listened to the vtuber meta when I started, I would be on youtube with a mommy milker model making p*nis jokes and acting wacky for clip bait. You have to do your own thing sometimes! I felt really weird about feeling too "prudish" and too boring when I started, and being scared it would scare people away. But I just do my own thing and keep going.

It may not sound worth listening to coming from me, but, hmm.... I did not come into vtubing thinking of all those things. I just decided to throw myself out there and be cringe, and people found things about that they enjoyed. There are going to be people who think of me as fake, or two-faced or secretly evil or pure or something when I am just myself... I am not an angel or a debil or a teddy bear or a megamind, I am just myself and people will enjoy that or not! Likewise, maybe people do think you are trashy or not seiso enough. So what? You being yourself is the draw! That authenticity shines through and it is what drives those people to you.

I’m usually not one for interest-based Discords though, I’m not sure why. I guess I’m just really picky with who I spend my time with so it feels like a bit of a gamble. I think most of the points I was going to make were already touched on by the other anons. yeah I've seen streamers play my favorite games and still get bored watching them and I've seen streamers talk about how much they hate my favorite games but still keep me entertained. I don't watch for the game, that's just a catalyst to get something out of the streamer. That all said, playing games I like or am interested in is a good way to get your foot in the door, so don't be afraid to shake things up in that department. Variety is the spice of life and all that shit.
