Holy shit that's great. I was thinking about how I would do a Little S wiggly, and you nailed it.
You have to make sure that there's an alpha channel on each frame, and that the background is actually transparent. In a few hours, I might can take a stab at trying to transparentize that particular gif, but you'd be best served just doing it yourself if you can.

That looks like it could be a right headache to diagnose what the proper settings for each frame need to be then, since presumably you'd have to mangle the alpha channel's configuration on each individual frame's merging of wiggly to jar. That might be an interesting thing to mess with actually..

gif doesn't have an alpha channel. The transparency is just one color which is defined transparent so you can't have semi-transparent pixels.

Maybe some kind of transparent glass effect could be done with dithering
