Rratposting absolutely ruined vtuber discussion. Before the boom in late 2019-early 2020, we could discuss vtubers honestly.

When hololive blew it people started making huge conspiracy theories about everything. And even that was manageable on /jp/ for awhile, but then the /wvt/ split happened and subsequently /vt/ happened and now the site is just filled with newfags that don't bother doing any research at all.

On one hand, you have the shitposters who just want to jump into drama and the problem with these fucks is obvious. But on the other hand, we have a massive hugbox population that refuses to even humor the idea that their preferred brand or even the industry as a whole is flawed when some accusations against certain vtubers can be backed up with strong evidence.

There were people right and people wrong when the Meiro-Roa situation dropped but everyone was fairly civil and inquisitive back then. Now discussion is entirely guided by tribalism and escapism. /vt/ was a fucking mistake and I want to go back to the days when there was a single vtuber thread and we talked about current events.

Jokes aside, other than some rrats mentioned prior which I do believe in, there's way too much reason to believe that many big indies and small companies (and even some larger ones) come here, not to get criticism (although that does come their way), but to establish their brand and presence with posters here.
You might think that nobody would want to have /vt/ anons in their chat with all the containment breaking risks, but people lurking here may be some of the most dedicated viewers and paypigs there are. Often I see posts with membership lists full of literal 2views. And for the big ones, well, they're being talked about anyway, so they might as well try to control some of that conversation.
And some are going to tell me "yeah some chuubas posted or lurked sometimes" but that's very small in terms of the scale that I'm talking about.
I'm talking about people dedicated to making OPs every time a threaed is about to die. People reposting art or making edits, full-on astroturfing. Some might even start whole bait threads and schizo rants against their opponents while still being able to maintain professional relationships outside this place.

What I'm trying to say is that there's no doubt in my mind that nyanners is the /vsj+/ OP
