It really depends. Bigger ones are making good money, but the smaller ones depending on how much effort they put into clipping (because yes, if they add subtitules and edits a 5 minute clip can turn into a 1-2 hours job) are still getting shit hourly rates. Then again there are some bigger channels who actually are a group of people, which means that each does less work but also get less money, so still good hourly rate but not rolling on cash for an hour of work a day type of deal

You're definitely doing it wrong if you want to make money from it. Just do the following:

>Rip an entire stream from Gura or Kronii
>Don't actually watch the stream. Clip moments from those who have timestamped in the comments or use leddit to look for popular posts of certain moments
>Add a sexualized thumbnail to instantly get the attention of coomers
>always put a quote from the clip on the thumbnail itself (or better you have to misquote it altogether because then even more people will click it)
>make the title of the video a question or a statement (for example, She said WHAT?? / X thinks this is LEWD / "Oh no..." "Uh oh"... "YABE...")
>tag other vtubers and Hololive members in the video so it shows up in more searches
>make regular community posts containing lewd artwork with a pointless question, or random polls to gain youtube interaction points which manipulates the algorithm. Then do the exact same poll the following week.

I need to check on that, as in if shorter videos get less 2 unskippable ads at the beginning, but not really. imagine the boon of having a 10 minutes long video is having a mid-roll ad at the 8 minute mark and people stop watching by minute 5, you are still not perciving said extra revenue.

Ain't nobody got time or attention span for that. I always skip "clips" that are 15+ minutes unless it's a translation of a skit the JPs or IDs did. I never watch Minecraft clips over 10 minutes. It just means you're not editing enough filler shit or you're trying for a midroll ad which is pointless because most run adblock.

This will give you an idea of how much they are earning. In short if they continue having good weeks they earn in excess of $15-$20k per week. I run a regional (non-eigo) translation channel though, and the CPR here is around 3 times lower than in Europe and US, so you can do the math. Mind you most views are unmonetised because adblock. You gotta have crazy views, like 50-100k plus per clip to make real bank

Payment depends on several factors, including how many ads are shown (if 50% of viewers run adblock, that video will only pay on the 50% who saw the ad). Another thing is, what country is the person from who is viewing the ad? They might get an ad from a company in their country, if they're from a poor 3rd world, the company who bought the ad will not pay as much because their customers don't have as much money as someone living in burgerland or potatoland.

I watch a Twitch streamer who used to be a youtuber whose 10 min videos got 300-500k views on average and he says his 4hr long vods that barely get 20-30k views make a lot more. Given youtube pays most for watchtime these days and rarely do clips even reach the 11 minute mark that gets you into the decent ad revenue?
I doubt even the occasional viral clip that hits the million+ view mark has very impressive payouts
Even real youtubers get most of their money from either patreon or by shilling trash products like skillshare or raycon earbuds at the beginning of their videos
Adsense hasn't been a serious money maker since 2010 (they cut adsense payouts in half in 2011 and there's been at least two further cuts since then following 2 "adpocalypses" where advertisers pulled out of youtube en masse and only returned when google lets them pay less for ad space)
