I think if you want to establish a viewerbase that keeps coming back then you need to give them something that they'll keep coming back for. If you do one or two streams of a particular game or genre each week then hopefully they'll get into the habit of swinging by at that time and with habit might stick around when that changes. Experimentation is good too, but I think the advice I tend to hear is to limit it to once a week and then let the rest be more regular.

I wish I knew, more broadly I think corpos tend to exemplify it well, they tend to get a lot of attention before they even have anything to show. Debuts kind of build anticipation I guess.
For hype trains I just view them as a chance to throw money at the streamer without it being as awkward as donating out of nowhere.

If the streamer can make it entertaining then it's fine, and if it's a buff game that's popular then that's ideal, I'm sure with enough searching there should be options for everybody that are both fun and have growth potential.

The network effect is pretty powerful, if something gets traction it'll still break out of the sphere pretty quickly. Even if it doesn't go far you still have a bit of a chance of grabbing viewers. My complaint with my oshi is just that her tweets are mostly only interesting to existing viewers so even though she has a pretty good following, they're not bringing in anyone new.

Hello, miss Arypie. Over the Garden Wall really is a great little cartoon, I enjoyed it quite a lot the first time I watched it.

1) Not exactly sure why, but I feel a sort of vague sense of familiarity to projektMelody, a sort of childhood friend vibe, even though I am unfamiliar with anyone similar to her. That's the only tuber that comes to mind.
2) Something about Nuu's art style feels soft and fuzzy, I think that counts as comfy. Moriko is also rather comfy looking.
3) Setz's art style, I adore it. There is not a chuuba who wouldn't benefit from having a Setz style model.
4) Engine sounds, be it a car, a generator or any other sort machinery, they always calm me down and the purr of a working machine makes me feel somewhat at home.

1) Caleb's inclusion of ancient, janky tokusatsu shows at the end of his streams give me a bit of nostalgia for being a wee lad for the original airing of the Power Rangers stuff in the US. I remember seeing the Official Movie™ in theatre too, so I guess I wasn't that wee in retrospect. It was less a draw and more coincidence, so I'm not sure if it perfectly fits the question, gomen.
2) In terms of model or produced art? Alker's a strong contender for both, but I really enjoy Eggy's placeholder model for comfiness a lot, and I love Toma's drawings for the same, going off of the "comfy" metric.
3) Honestly? Highly. I'll sing his praises until the cows come home. I'd adore ANYONE he made a model for. I dare say you'd be even more adorable, if such a thing were possible, if he made a L2D for you.
4) I'm not really into comfy sounds that much, but lots of chuubas' voices would fall into that category now, lots more than I would have expected a year ago, where I mostly just tolerated the sounds that people make. Gentle rain on a glass surface is probably the best one, makes me yearn for a heavy ass blanket and cup of coffee to relax with.

Oh, gosh, this is not going to be a good answer, but! I sort of just beat myself up about it after the stream. Advice I got about it when I asked another vtuber however, was that as long as your viewers have fun, you succeed. I felt really badly for being as clueless as I was for my Code Vein stream last week, and also for messing up a few times during the My Immortal reading... But I have to tell myself that as long as I try and they enjoy it, I did alright!

Wrt being "on". I have a lot of bad health/bad mindset days and sort of feel the same way. But you know what they say: flowers cannot bloom all year. You cannot be "on" for every stream. Sometimes it might help to have more relaxed or "off" days, even. Your viewers will not see your best and demand it every single time. Just remember to have fun!

I don't know if I'd say it "reminded" me of something comforting but back when Koragi was streaming late nights on a regular basis I'd always fall asleep during the campfire section.
